Cell response to Electrospun PVA and PVA/Chitosan nanofibers
2009 IEEE 35th Annual Northeast Bioengineering Conference, 2009PVA and chitosan have been used for many tissue engineering applications. However, most of the studies use only single polymer to fabricate nanofibers. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to fabricate PVA and PVA/Chitosan nanofiber scaffold for potential tissue engineering applications. The nanofrous scaffold was produced via electrospinning.

Supercapacitors have exhibited the proper characteristics and advantages in many applications such as medical and electronic usages. Among electrolytes used in the supercapacitor structures, poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA)-based ones have especially attracted many attentions from researchers and industrial men that this can be attributed to the solubility ...

Biodegradation of PVA‐based formulations
Macromolecular Symposia, 1999AbstractInvestigation of the biodegradability of water soluble poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) based blown films was carried out under different lab‐scale environmental conditions. In particular respirometric tests were utilized in order to evaluate the biodegradability of PVA films in composting, in modified Sturm test and in soil burial simulation tests ...

Dynamic Response of Polyvinyl Alcohol(PVA)-Hydrogel With Different PVA Concentrations
Volume 14: Emerging Technologies; Engineering Management, Safety, Ethics, Society, and Education; Materials: Genetics to Structures, 2014Polyvinyl Alcohol-Hydrogel (PVA-H) is a biomaterial used for manufacturing contact lenses as well as for the medium of drug delivery. Previous studies have also showed that PVA-H exhibits superior biocompatibility with hydrophilic elastic nature. The aim of this study is to examine the possible usage of the PVA-H as cartilage replacement material by ...

anohybrid PVA/ZrO_2 and PVA/Al_2 O_3 Electrospun Mats
2008Electrochemical planar sensors using Nb2O5 powders to fabricate sensing electrodes were tested both in laboratory and “in-situ”, i.e. downstream a three-way catalytic converter of a FIAT fire 1242 c.c. spark ignition engine. Two cell configurations were compared, one with and the other without Pt paste under the metal oxide electrode.

Amine functionalised graphene embedded polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and PVA-chitosan hydrogel composites
International Journal of Biological MacromoleculesA novel amine-functionalized graphene oxide (AFG) doped polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/chitosan (PVA-Ch) composite film was developed using an eco-synthesis approach, eliminating the need for halogenated compounds. The resulting AFG-doped PVA/Chitosan (PVA-Ch/AFG) polymer film exhibited promising properties for controlled delivery and biosensing applications.
