Insect‐scale crawling robots can traverse confined environments; nevertheless, their functionalities are predominantly restricted to sensing because of challenges in integrating actuated degrees of freedom. Herein, a miniature rotary electrostatic clutch is presented by incorporating cutting patterns in the clutch layer.

ABSTRACT A new type of thin‐film nanocomposite (TFN) membrane was synthesized by incorporating cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) into a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) top layer on a polycarbonate (PC) substrate via dip‐coating. The synthesized TFC and TFN membranes (PC/PVA TFC and PC/PVA‐CNC TFN membranes) were evaluated using contact angle measurement, field ...

FTIR ANALYSIS OF IRRADIATED FOOD-GRADE PVC FILMS
This work aimed to investigate the influence of ionizing radiation (gamma radiation and accelerated electrons) at commercial doses of 1, 2 and 4 kGy on optical properties of PVC films used as food packaging. FTIR was carried out for range of 4000 to 400 cm -1 by direct measurement.

Surfactant‐Enhanced Electrospun Nanofiber Filters for Efficient Viral and Bacterial Inactivation
In this work, electrospun polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofibrous filters functionalized with surfactants (CTAB, CPC, and SDS) were developed for air filtration applications. The PAN nanofiber mats enable efficient particulate matter capture while simultaneously providing antimicrobial and antiviral activity against bacteria (E. coli and S.
