Cyclic voltammetric experiments with plasticized PVC membranes

Analytica Chimica Acta, 1993
Abstract Cyclic voltammetry, which is widely used in studying liquid/ liquid interfaces, was applied to plasticized PVC-based membranes in order to understand the nature of ion transfer processes at the interfaces of the membrane. Dummy membranes containing a lipophilic salt additive (tetrahexylammonium tetraphenylborate) were examined with this ...

The role of PVC in ion selective electrode membranes

Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry and Interfacial Electrochemistry, 1987
Abstract The behaviour of a solution of NaBPh4 in a PVC membrane plasticized by di-octyl sebacate is compared with a solution of NaBPh4 in pure liquid di-octyl sebacate. In the liquid the NaBPh4 is present as ion pairs with ~ 0.2% of these dissociated in a 1 mM solution. By contrast in the membrane 1 mM solution is 74% dissociated. This difference in

Selectivity of neutral carriep-pvc membrane electrodes

Analytica Chimica Acta, 1974
Abstract The selectivity coefficients of monovalent cations with neutral-carrier PVC membrane electrodes have been measured in order to establish the influence of solvent interactions in such media. The results are compared with those from liquid membrane electrodes.

PVC membrane potentiometric sensor for the determination ofisoproterenol

2015
441-Hhydroxy-2-[(1-methylethyl)-aminojethyl] -1,2- benzenediol named isoproterenol (ISP) is a catecholanıiııe drug widely used in the treatment of allergic emergencies such as styptic, bran-chiol asthma, status asthmatic, cardiac-arrest, glaucoma, and venfricular bradycardia. ISP has positive inotropic and chronotropic effects on the heart.

Ionic Diffusion Through Unblended PVC Membranes

Analytical Letters, 1994
Abstract This work deals with the study of the diffusion of Cl− ion through pure unblended polyvinylchloride (PVC) membranes of different thickness. Several PVC -tetrahydrofuran ratios and also different internal diameter glass disks have been used to change the thickness of the membrane.

Compatibility research on PVC/PVB blended membranes

Desalination, 2006
Abstract Due to the hydrophobicity of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC), the application of PVC membranes has been limited. In this paper, poly(vinyl butyral) (PVB) was introduced as the second polymer component to hydrophilized PVC ultrafiltration membranes.
