PRDM14 is expressed in germ cell tumors with constitutive overexpression altering human germline differentiation and proliferation. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Germ cell tumors (GCTs) are a heterogeneous group of tumors occurring in gonadal and extragonadal locations. GCTs are hypothesized to arise from primordial germ cells (PGCs), which fail to differentiate.

The Photon‐Baryon Governed Universe

open access: yesPhysics Research International, Volume 2012, Issue 1, 2012., 2012
In a previous paper we postulated that the repulsive force responsible for the universal expansion is associated with the excitation of the empty space (quantum vacuum) and the excitation energy is represented by the energy of the cosmic microwave background (CMB). In this paper, we show that the concept of the repulsive space expanding photon field (i)

Isolation and Characterization of Adhesive Secretion from Cuvierian Tubules of Sea Cucumber Holothuria forskåli (Echinodermata: Holothuroidea)

open access: yesEvidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Volume 2011, Issue 1, 2011., 2011
The sea cucumber Holothuria forskåli possesses a specialized system called Cuvierian tubules. During mechanical stimulation white filaments (tubules) are expelled and become sticky upon contact with any object. We isolated a protein with adhesive properties from protein extracts of Cuvierian tubules from H. forskåli.

A new family of approximate QR-LS algorithms for adaptive filtering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The 13th IEEE / S P Workshop on Statistical Signal Processing, Bordeaux, France, 17-20 July 2005This paper proposes a new family of approximate QR-based least squares (LS) adaptive filtering algorithms called p-TA-QR-LS algorithms.

Isomeric periodic mesoporous organosilicas with controllable properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The synthesis procedure for isomeric periodic mesoporous organosilicas with E-configured ethenylene bridges was investigated using the homemade pure E-isomer of 1,2-bis(triethoxysilyl)ethene.

Cow’s Milk Protein May Induce Allergy and Inflammation in Intestinal Epithelial Cells Through Regulating HOTAIR Expression and NF‐κB Signaling Pathway

open access: yesJournal of Food Biochemistry, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Background: Cow’s milk protein allergy (CMPA) is associated with activation of proinflammatory signaling pathways and overexpression of inflammatory mediators. Long noncoding RNA (LncRNA) HOX transcript antisense intergenic RNA (HOTAIR) is a LncRNA, which is involved in the occurrence and development of many biological processes and diseases.

Interloper treatment in dynamical modelling of galaxy clusters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The aim of this paper is to study the efficiency of different approaches to interloper treatment in dynamical modelling of galaxy clusters. Using cosmological N-body simulation of standard LCDM model we select 10 massive dark matter haloes and use their ...

Association of MC1R Variants and host phenotypes with melanoma risk in CDKN2A mutation carriers: a GenoMEL study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010

Background Carrying the cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2A (CDKN2A) germline mutations is associated with a high risk for melanoma. Penetrance of CDKN2A mutations is modified by pigmentation characteristics, nevus phenotypes,
