Study of biological and molecular characterization of pepper-PVY isolated from Tehran pepper fields and it’s comparison with other PVY isolates [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Virology, 2007
Potato virus Y a type species of the genus potyvirus infects several crops in the family solanaceae. PVY isolated from field infected peppers was identified on the basis of host reaction, serological and molecular characterization. The result of ELISA, Immunoblot electrophoresis and Immuno Capture Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (IC- RT-

Plasmodesmata‐located proteins: The molecular hubs in noncell‐autonomous immunity

open access: yesNew Plant Protection, Volume 3, Issue 1, March 2026.
Plasmodesmata serve as critical battlefields for plant immunity, regulated by diverse proteins. This article provides a comprehensive review of the regulatory mechanisms, challenges, and future directions concerning proteins located within plasmodesmata and their roles in plant defense responses.

RepA Enhances Plant Resistance to Citrus Chlorotic Dwarf‐Associated Virus by Transcriptionally Activating ClAOS

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, Volume 27, Issue 3, March 2026.
We revealed a novel role for CCDaV‐RepA as a nuclear transcriptional regulator and citrus utilise this function of RepA to activate ClAOS, which is a key gene that limits the rate of jasmonic acid (JA) synthesis. This enhances JA‐mediated defence response to CCDaV in lemon.

Breeding for PVY resistance in tobacco LJ911 using CRISPR/Cas9 technology

open access: yesCrop Breeding and Applied Biotechnology, 2021
Potato virus Y (PVY) is one of the main diseases of tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum). Recent studies indicated that the Va gene (Ntab0942120) determines the susceptibility of the crop to PVY, and that the Va gene product interacts with the PVY genome-linked ...

The incidence of potato virus Y strains in Slovenia

open access: yesActa Agriculturae Slovenica, 2004
The incidence of potato virus Y (PVY) strains and its infection pressure across Slovenia were monitored. Disease free tubers of the variety Igor were planted on different locations across Slovenia in 1997, 1998 and 2000.

Hazai PVY izolátumok levéltetű átvitelében szerepet játszó gének molekuláris jellemzése = Molecular characterisation of genes playing role in aphid transmission of Hungarian PVY isolates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A potyvírusok levéltetű átviteléért a segítő fehérje (HC-Pro) és a köpenyfehérje (CP) három szakasza felelős: a HC-Pro amino-terminális végén található KITC motívum, a karboxi-terminális végén lévő PTK aminosav triplet és a CP DAG motívum.

MicroRNA‐Induced Gene Silencing (MIGS): A Tool for Multi‐Gene Silencing and Targeting Viruses in Plants

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 3, Page 973-987, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Since its discovery, RNA interference (RNAi, also known as gene silencing) has been a key tool to downregulate gene expression in plants for a range of applications, including protection against viruses. Many of these applications require the silencing of multiple genes concomitantly.

Interference in PCR: Transcription amplifications of mixed PVY isolates [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Protection Science, 2005
Interference in PCR and transcription amplifications by mixed virus templates is described. The yields of PCR amplification of closely related PVY isolates in a mixture were lower than those of the separate amplification of each individual virus strain, i.e. the two virus templates mutually interfered in their amplification process.

Mapping antigenic epitopes of potato virus Y with antibodies affinity-purified by using overlapping synthetic peptides

open access: yesAgricultural and Food Science, 1994
Synthetic, overlapping peptides representing the entire amino acid sequence of potato virus Y (PVY) coat protein were used to affinity-purify antibodies from polyclonal antisera to PVY.
