A new species and notes of some pygmy grasshoppers (Orthoptera: Tetrigidae) from Sabah

Zootaxa
A recent orthopteran collection was conducted in Meligan and Maliau Basin, Sabah State (East Malaysia) in Borneo. We describe a new species of Bolotettix from Meligan: Bolotettix adik Tan & Muhammad, sp. nov. Mitochondrial Genomes of Two Pygmy Grasshoppers (Orthoptera: Tetrigoidea) and a Comparative Analysis of Caelifera Mitogenomes

Zoological Science, 2017
The nearly complete mitogenomes of Bolivaritettix sikkinensis and Bolivaritettix yuanbaoshanensis were determined and compared with the mitogenomes of other 29 caeliferans. These two newly determined mitogenomes displayed the typical gene organization and composition, codon usage and AT skew of most Caelifera mitogenomes. A comparison of 31 orthopteran

Rethinking the thermal melanism hypothesis: rearing temperature and coloration in pygmy grasshoppers

Evolutionary Ecology, 2011
Selection for efficient conversion of solar radiation to body heat has favored the evolution of dark coloration in many ectotherms. The thermal melanism hypothesis posits that dark coloration is beneficial under conditions of low ambient temperatures because it results in faster heating rates and higher body temperatures.

'BOLD Systems' and pygmy grasshoppers evolution(Orthoptera: Tetrigidae: Batrachideinae as separate family?

2018
