Colonoscopic Polyp Classification Using Local Shape and Texture Features
In this paper, a method is proposed for colonic polyp classification which can perform a virtual biopsy for assessing the stage of malignancy in polyps. Geometry, texture, and colour of a polyp give sufficient cue of its nature.

Anisotropic g factor in InAs self-assembled quantum dots
We investigate the wave functions, spectrum, and g-factor anisotropy of low-energy electrons confined to self-assembled, pyramidal InAs quantum dots (QDs) subject to external magnetic and electric fields.

Chlorido(1,10-phenanthroline)(1H-1,2,4-triazole-3-carboxylato)copper(II)
The title complex, [Cu(C3H2N3O2)Cl(C12H8N2)], crystallizes with two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. Each CuII atom is coordinated by an N atom and an O atom from the bidentate 1H-1,2,4-triazole-3-carboxylate ligand, two N atoms from the 1 ...

Pyramidal micromirrors for microsystems and atom chips [PDF]
Concave pyramids are created in the (100) surface of a silicon wafer by anisotropic etching in potassium hydroxide. High quality micromirrors are then formed by sputtering gold onto the smooth silicon (111) faces of the pyramids. These mirrors show great

Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...

Attitude stability and altitude control of a variable-geometry Earth-orbiting solar sail [PDF]
A variable-geometry solar sail for on-orbit altitude control is investigated. It is shown that, by adjusting the effective area of the sail at favorable times, it is possible to influence the length of the semi-major axis over an extended period of time.
