The fundamental frequencies of pyrene and pyrene-d10
Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular Spectroscopy, 1971Abstract The infrared spectra of pyrene and pyrene- d 10 both in solution and in the solid have been measured down to 50 cm −1 . This data was complemented by laser-Raman studies of single crystal samples and of solutions in benzene, carbon disulphide and carbon tetrachloride.

Phytoremediation for PAH hydrocarbons has been widely studied, but few focus on the influence of rhizodeposition on their bioaccessibility during the process. This literature revealed the effect of celery (Apium graveolens) rhizodeposition on pyrene fractionation and bioaccessibility in simulated pyrene and pyrene-lead contaminated microcosms.

AbstractA new type of fullerene–pyrene hybrid molecule, C60Ar5R [Ar=1‐pyrenyl, 4‐(1‐pyrenyl)C6H4, 4‐{(1‐pyrenyl)CO2}C6H4, and 4‐{(1‐pyrenyl)(CH2)3CO2}C6H4; R=H and Me] was synthesized by a regioselective penta‐addition reaction using organocopper reagents.

Transplacental action of benzo(a)pyrene and pyrene
Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 1977The transplacental and direct action of benzo(a)pyrene (BP) on mice of strains A and C57BL and of their progeny was studied. BP was found to represent a carcinogenic risk for the progeny. The greatest carcinogenic effect in progeny of strain A mice was exhibited by BP in a dose of 6 mg: The frequency of development of lung tumors was 76.8% compared ...

The tumor initiating activity on mouse skin of benzo[a]pyrene (BaP), 7,10-dimethylBaP, and 10-methylBaP was determined. Each compound was tested at initiating doses of 50 microgram and 100 microgram with promotion by application 3 times weekly of 2.5 microgram tetradecanoylphorbol acetate. BaP induced tumors in 40% (100 microgram) and 25% (50 microgram)
