Pyrene-fused subphthalocyanine
Chem. Commun., 2011A pyrene-fused subphthalocyanine synthesized from a reaction of 2,7-di-tert-butyl-4,5,9,10-tetracyanopyrene and tetrafluorophthalonitrile exhibits red-shifted Q-band absorption and a unique linear arrangement in the solid state caused by a π-π stacking interaction.

Microbial metabolism of pyrene
Chemico-Biological Interactions, 1986The isolation and identification of pyrene metabolites formed from pyrene by the fungus Cunninghamella elegans is described. C. elegans was incubated with pyrene for 24 h. Six metabolites were isolated by reversed-phase high-performance liquid (HPLC) and thin-layer chromatography (TLC) and characterized by the application of UV absorption, 1H-NMR and ...

Intersystem crossing in pyrene-h10 and pyrene-d10
Chemical Physics Letters, 1968Abstract : The phosphorescence intensity, phosphorescence lifetime, and fluorescence lifetime of pyrene -h(10) and pyrene -d(10) were measured as functions of temperature from 80K to 300K. Using this data, we determine the temperature dependence of the rate constant for intersystem crossing.

AbstractBenzo[a]pyrene (B[a]P) and 6‐methylbenzo[a]pyrene ( 6‐MeB[a]P) are metabolized by fortified rat‐liver homogenates to a number of metabolites including one which is indistinguishable from 6‐hydroxymethylbenzo[a]pyrene (6–OHMeB[a]P) by either thin‐layer chromatography or ultra‐violet absorption spectra.

Dynamics of Pyrene-Dimer Association and Ensuing Pyrene-Dimer Dissociation
The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2020To address the possible role of pyrene dimers in soot, chemical dynamics simulations are reported to provide atomistic details for the process of collisional association of pyrene dimers and ensuing decomposition of pyrene dimers. The simulations are performed at 600, 900, 1200, 1600, and 2000 K temperatures (T) with different collisional impact ...

Mutagenicity of pyrene in salmonella
Mutation Research Letters, 1985Pyrene was tested for mutagenicity in Salmonella typhimurium strains TA97, TA98, TA100 and TA1537. Mutagenicity was seen in all strains when S9 was present.

Bioavailability of atrazine, pyrene and benzo[a]pyrene in European river waters
Chemosphere, 2001Thirteen river waters and one humic lake water were characterized. The effects of dissolved organic matter (DOM) on the bioavailability of atrazine, pyrene and benzo[a]pyrene (B[a]P) was evaluated. Binding of the chemicals by DOM was analyzed with the equilibrium dialysis technique. For each of the water samples, 24 h bioconcentration factors (BCFs) of

Fluorescence Decay of Pyrene in a Hydrogenated Pyrene Matrix
Australian Journal of Chemistry, 1979Pyrene, 4,5-dihydropyrene and 4,5,9,10-tetrahydropyrene have been found to form a true solid solution over a range of composition. The measured fluorescence decay lifetime of pyrene in a hydrogenated pyrene matrix has been found to depend on the wavelength at which the emission is monitored, but not on the wavelength of excitation.

Effects of UVA and visible light on the photogenotoxicity of benzo[a]pyrene and pyrene
Environmental Toxicology, 2008AbstractThis study investigated the role of UVA/visible light (U, 320–800 nm) and visible light (V, 400–800 nm) in the phototoxicity and photogenotoxicity of two ubiquitous polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH): benzo[a]pyrene (BaP) and Pyrene (Pyr).

3-Hydroxybenzo(a)pyrene as a biomarker of dermal exposure to benzo(a)pyrene
Archives of Toxicology, 2009The aim of this study was to determine the percutaneous absorption flux of BaP (20 microg/cm(2) in ethanol) and the usefulness of urinary 3-OHBaP as a bio-indicator of dermal exposure to BaP. The percutaneous absorbed dose and absorption flux were estimated by comparison with intravenous administration of BaP (0.01 and 0.05 mg/kg in Cremophor) as ...
