Overwintering of Pyricularia oryzae in wild infected foxtails

The rice blast fungus Pyricularia oryzae mainly overwinters in infested rice organs stored indoors, whereas it is difficult or impossible for the pathogen to overwinter outdoors. By contrast, blast pathogens infecting weed grasses must overwinter outdoors every winter to continue their life cycle.

Action of the antipenetrant, tricyclazole, on appressoria of Pyricularia oryzae

The antipenetrant, tricyclazole, blocked melanin biosynthesis and protected unwounded, but not wounded, rice plants from infection by a wild-type isolate of Pyricularia oryzae. Two "buff mutants" genetically deficient in melanin biosynthesis infected wounded but not unwounded plants.

งานวิจัยนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อค้นหาแบคทีเรียที่มีความสามารถยับยั้ง Pyricularia oryzae ที่ก่อ โรคไหม้ในข้าว โดยนำแบคทีเรีย 10 สายพันธุ์ที่คัดแยกมาจากดินและน้ำทะเลจากงานวิจัยก่อนหน้านี้มา ทดสอบความสามารถในการยับยั้งราด้วยวิธี dual culture และพบว่าแบคทีเรียสายพันธุ์ M23, M25 และ M26 มีความสามารถยับยั้ง P. oryzae ได้สูงที่สุด ด้วยเปอร์เซ็นต์การยับยั้ง 48.33,

Pyricularia oryzae-Simptomi bolesti -Plamenjaca je vazno oboljenje na pirincu i javlja se u svim reonima gde se pirinae gaji u Makedoniji.
