Parallel Interactions at Large Horizontal Displacement in Pyridine–Pyridine and Benzene–Pyridine Dimers

ChemPhysChem, 2012
AbstractA study of crystal structures from the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) and DFT calculations reveals that parallel pyridine–pyridine and benzene–pyridine interactions at large horizontal displacements (offsets) can be important, similar to parallel benzene–benzene interactions.

Microwave spectra of pyridine and monodeuterated pyridines. Revised molecular structure of pyridine

Journal of Molecular Structure, 1977
Abstract The microwave spectra of pyridine and its 2-D, 3-D and 4-D substituted species were reinvestigated. Nuclear quadrupole coupling and centrifugal distortion effects were considered also for the deuterated species resulting in improved values for the rotational constants of these species.

Interactions of pyridine perchlorate with pyridine in acetonitrile

Journal of Molecular Liquids, 1983
Abstract The IR and 1 H measurements of pyridine perchlorate in acetonitrile as a function of concentration of added pyridine were determined and K app = (K 1 + K 2 K d )/(1 + K d ) = 3.1 ± 0.1 obtained. Equilibrium constant of B + H⋯ A − ⇌B + H + A − was determined by conductometric technique (K d = 1.75×10 −2 moldm −3 ). Using published value

Role of Pyridine in Wyodak−Pyridine Adducts

Energy & Fuels, 2005
When pyridine (PYR) is added to powdered Wyodak subbituminous coal (WYO), the sample is converted to a paste, and the molecular-level adduct which is formed is stable for months. After the excess pyridine has evaporated from the WYO−PYR sample, the stoichiometry of the adduct is ca.

Synthesis of Pluriaminated Pyridines

HETEROCYCLES, 1998
The key reagent 3,5-dichloro-4-pyridinecarbonitrile (1) was used to synthesize 4-aminomethylpyridine derivatives 3,5-disubstituted with various amino groups, very active as inhibitors of diamine oxidase. The study of the reaction allowed to discover conditions for the gradual substitution in good yields of the two chlorine atoms to give symmetrically ...

Crystal structures of pyridine and pyridine trihydrate

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1981
The crystal structure of pyridine is orthorhombic with space group Pna21, a = 1752.4(3), b = 896.9(2), and c = 1135.2(2) pm at 153 K and Z = 16. A low melting crystalline hydrate of pyridine was found by DTA to be a trihydrate. It is orthorhombic, too, with space group Pbca, a = 1244.4(3), b = 1783.2(6), and c = 679.1(2) pm at 223 K and Z = 8.
