Preparation of the Pyridinium Salts Differing in the Length of the N-Alkyl Substituent

open access: yesMolecules, 2010
Quaternary pyridinium salts with chains ranging from C8 to C20 belong in the large group of cationic surfactants. In this paper, the preparation of such cationic surface active agents based on the pyridinium moiety and differing in the length of the N ...

Pyridinium tosylate

open access: yesIUCrData
The title compound (systematic name: pyridinium 4-methylbenzenesulfonate), C5H6N+·C7H7O3S−, is the pyridinium salt of para-toluenesulfonic acid. In the crystal, classical N—H...O hydrogen bonds as well as C—H...O contacts connect the cationic and anionic

(Cobaltoceniumylamido)pyridinium hexafluoridophosphate [PDF]

open access: yesIUCrData, 2021
The title compound, [Co(C5H5)(C10H9N2)]PF6, was synthesized from deprotonated 1-aminopyridinium iodide, followed by microwave-assisted nucleophilic aromatic substitution of iodo-cobaltocenium iodide. After anion exchange with potassium hexafluoridophosphate, the title compound crystallizes as orange prisms in the space group Pc.

Pyridinium Salts of Dehydrated Lanthanide Polychlorides

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
The reaction of lanthanide (Ln) chloride hydrates ([Ln(H2O)n(Cl)3]) with pyridine (py) yielded a set of dehydrated pyridinium (py-H) Ln-polychloride salts. These species were crystallographically characterized as [[py-H-py][py-H]2[LnCl6]] (Ln-6; Ln = La,

1,1′-(Ethane-1,2-diyl)bis(4-{(E)-2-[4-(dimethylamino)phenyl]ethenyl}pyridin-1-ium) dibromide ethanol 0.67-solvate

open access: yesIUCrData, 2021
The asymmetric unit of the title solvated molecular salt, 3C32H36Br2N42+·6Br−·2C2H5OH, consists of 1.5 cations, three bromide anions and one ethanol solvent molecule of crystallization. The half-cation is completed by crystallographic inversion symmetry.

Synthesis, Characterization, Biological Evaluation, and In Silico Studies of Imidazolium-, Pyridinium-, and Ammonium-Based Ionic Liquids Containing n-Butyl Side Chains

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
Ionic liquids (ILs) have emerged as active pharmaceutical ingredients because of their excellent antibacterial and biological activities. Herein, we used the green-chemistry-synthesis procedure, also known as the metathesis method, to develop three ...

open access: yesMolbank, 2022
A synthesis of a cationic moiety and fluorescent moieties containing amphiphilic 1,4-dihydropyridine (1,4-DHP) derivatives was performed starting with the Hantzsch-type cyclization of dodecyl acetoacetate, phenylaldehyde and ammonium acetate. Bromination
