Anomeric Amides: Valuable Reagents in Synthetic Organic Chemistry
Enabling late‐stage transformations and skeletal editing, anomeric amides have recently emerged as powerful synthetic tools. Due to their unique properties, anomeric amides have been employed in reactions ranging from amination to halogenation. This minireview provides an overview of recent progress in using anomeric amides across a variety of ...

2-(Ethoxycarbonyl)pyridinium nitrate [PDF]
In the title compound, C(8)H(10)NO(2) (+)·NO(3) (-), the cation is essentially planar with C-O-C-C and C-O-C-O torsion angles of -178.1 (2) and 2.1 (4)°, respectively. In the crystal, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen-bond inter-actions stabilize the structure.

Surfactant‐Enhanced Electrospun Nanofiber Filters for Efficient Viral and Bacterial Inactivation
In this work, electrospun polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofibrous filters functionalized with surfactants (CTAB, CPC, and SDS) were developed for air filtration applications. The PAN nanofiber mats enable efficient particulate matter capture while simultaneously providing antimicrobial and antiviral activity against bacteria (E. coli and S.

The Challenging P‐Alkylation of Aromatic Phosphorus Heterocycles and Follow‐Up Reactions
P‐alkylation of λ3σ2‐phosphinines is hindered by weak nucleophilicity and scarce synthetic access, previously requiring multistep routes or extreme electrophiles. A direct ambient‐condition method is reported using 3,5‐bis(trimethylsilyl)‐phosphinine/B(C6F5)3 with esters or iso(thio)cyanates to generate stable 1‐R‐phosphininium salts.

Crystal structure and thermal behaviour of pyridinium styphnate
In the crystal structure of the title molecular salt, C5H6N+·C6H2N3O8− (systematic name: pyridinium 3-hydroxy-2,4,6-trinitrophenolate), the pyridinium cation and the 3-hydroxy-2,4,6-trinitrophenolate anion are linked through bifurcated N—H...(O,O ...

Organophotoredox/Cobalt‐Catalyzed Retro‐Hydroformylation of Aldehydes
A new photoredox/cobalt retro‐hydroformylation is developed. This one‐pot two‐step process involves the in situ formation of the corresponding 1,4‐dihydropyridine as key intermediate. Under mild reaction conditions, alkenes are efficiently produced from a wide range of aliphatic α‐monosubstituted aldehydes, with high functional‐group tolerance.

ZnO/ionic liquid catalyzed biodiesel production from renewable and waste lipids as feedstocks [PDF]
A new protocol for biodiesel production is proposed, based on a binary ZnO/TBAI (TBAI = tetrabutylammonium iodide) catalytic system. Zinc oxide acts as a heterogeneous, bifunctional Lewis acid/base catalyst, while TBAI plays the role of phase transfer ...
