C‐Terminal Functionalization Methods of Amino Acids, Peptides, and Proteins

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
C‐terminal functionalization offers powerful routes to peptide and protein diversification, yet epimerization, hydrolysis, and selectivity remain key challenges. This Review surveys enzymatic, decarboxylative, and condensation strategies, highlighting advances toward chemo‐ and regioselective, protecting‐group‐free, atom‐efficient methods applicable to

Self‐Assembly of a Chiral Pyrene–Bifuran–Imide Into Helical and Spherical Nanostructures

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A chiral bifuran–imide derivative (1‐Py2) functionalized with pyrene units and an L‐alanine side chain exhibits solvent‐switchable self‐assembly. Increasing water fraction drives a transition from chiral helical fibers with periodic tail‐to‐tail bilayer packing to achiral nanospheres with orange photoluminescence.

Polymer–ionic liquid interactions in aqueous media: A viscosity, conductivity, and UV–Vis study of poly(ethylene oxide) and 1-alkyl-4-methylpyridinium bromide

open access: yesChemical Thermodynamics and Thermal Analysis
Viscosity and electrical conductivity of ternary systems (poly(ethylene oxide) + 1-alkyl-4-methyl pyridinium bromide + water) were studied. The results imply that thermodynamic quality of solvent (1-alkyl-4-methyl pyridinium bromide aqueous solutions) is

Oxidation of alcohols with pyridinium bromochromate

open access: yesCommunications, Faculty Of Science, University of Ankara Series B Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, 1996
Pyridinium bromochromate (PBC) is a versatile and inexpensive oxidizing agent. It converts different classes of alcohols to the corresponding carbonyl compounds. Primary and secondary benzylic alcohols are oxidized in moderate to high yields. Synthetic utility of the reagent has been shown to increase in the presence of glacial acetic acid for the ...

Electron‐Rich Para‐Methylpyridine‐Functionalized TEMPO Empowers Long‐Lived Neutral Aqueous Organic Redox Flow Batteries

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Three methylpyridine‐functionalized TEMPOs were synthesized through an electron‐rich regulation strategy. The calculation of transition states supported the highest reaction efficiency of para‐MePy‐TEMPOs, which outperformed its analogues to have the best performance of AORFBs, opening a new avenue for exploring TEMPO‐based catholytes.
