The Radical Chemistry of 2,3‐Diguanidinopyridines: Coordination and Visible‐Light Photochemistry

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Substitution at the pyridine core of 2,3‐diguanidinopyridines was used to develop novel redox‐active molecules with three interconvertible redox states. They are applied as redox‐active ligands in coordination chemistry. Visible‐light irradiation of the pyridine N‐benzylated molecules leads to photoconversion to a higher‐energetic isomer.

Oxidation of alcohols with pyridinium bromochromate

open access: yesCommunications, Faculty Of Science, University of Ankara Series B Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, 1996
Pyridinium bromochromate (PBC) is a versatile and inexpensive oxidizing agent. It converts different classes of alcohols to the corresponding carbonyl compounds. Primary and secondary benzylic alcohols are oxidized in moderate to high yields. Synthetic utility of the reagent has been shown to increase in the presence of glacial acetic acid for the ...

Detection of Testosterone Esters in Urine: Evidence of Trace‐Level Detectability in Doping Control Samples

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
An ultrasensitive LC‐MS/MS method for detecting testosterone esters (T‐esters) in urine at sub–pg/mL levels is presented. This approach, employing Girard P derivatization, provides the first evidence of T‐esters' trace‐level detectability in human urine.

All‐in‐One Intelligent Hemostatic Sponge: Rapid Hemostasis for Non‐Compressive Wounds With Synergetic Enhanced Antibacterial Efficacy and Self‐Reporting Biodegradation

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Clinicians often concurrently tackle critical challenges including emergency hemorrhage, secondary infection, and the elusive tracking of biodegradation of conventional hemostatic agents for complex wounds. Here, we report an intelligent hemostatic sponge (spCS@AIE) by incorporating aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) nanoparticles with short‐wave ...

Retro‐Hetero‐Michael Addition Strategies in Organic Synthesis

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
In this review, synthetic approaches to carbo‐ and heterocyclic compounds, including natural products, published in the last 15 years (2011–2025) which have either relied upon or included a retro‐hetero‐Michael addition step at any stage are discussed.

Expanding the Scope of 1,2‐Diazepines Through Alternative Activation Strategies

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Often overlooked due to tedious synthetic routes, 1,2‐diazepines can be found in handful of biorelevant molecules. Previous reports from our group lifted the principal synthetic lock: a rapid and user‐friendly protocol to reach monocyclic 1,2‐diazepines from readily available pyridines and electrophilic activating groups. Herein, we extend the scope of

Antibacterial Hydrogel Dressing With Ca2+‐Dependent Hyaluronidase Responsiveness for Accelerating Wound Healing via On‐Demand Release of AIE Photosensitizers

open access: yesExploration, EarlyView.
This study innovates a Ca2+‐responsive hydrogel dressing that releases AIE photosensitizers on‐demand. Low Ca2+ enhances bacterial hyaluronidase (HAase) activity, degrading hyaluronic acid dressing to trigger antibacterial ROS release, while high Ca2+ inhibits HAase, preventing overdosing.

Mining Oral Probiotics Based on Their Pathogen Inhibition and Deodorization Roles

open access: yesFood Bioengineering, EarlyView.
A promising oral probiotic strain Streptococcus salivarius MY‐6 stood out from 41 candidate lactic acid bacteria through the high‐throughput strategy based on its inhibitions of the growth and biofilm formation of the main oral pathogens Fusobacterium nucleatum and Porphyromonas gingivalis, as well as its elimination of oral malodor‐associated ...
