Ionic Liquid Electrolytes for Extreme Temperature Conditions: Challenges and Perspective

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 40, 28 September 2026.
Ionic liquids (ILs) have gained great attention as safe electrolyte components in recent years. This review elucidates the temperature effects on IL‐based electrolytes from molecular configurations, physicochemical properties, and interfacial chemistry, raises the challenges and design strategies operating at low‐ and HT, providing valuable guidance ...

Synthesis of Methylisoxazol‐5(4H)‐One Derivatives Using an ʟ‐Proline‐Functionalized‐MMT Catalyst: Molecular Docking and Cancer Cell Line Cytotoxicity Studies

open access: yesChemistrySelect, Volume 11, Issue 38, 13 October 2026.
An efficient and sustainable method for the synthesis of biologically relevant isoxazoles is developed using modified montmorillonite‐K10 (MMT) nanoclay as a heterogeneous catalyst. The catalyst exhibited good stability and reusability over five cycles, with minimal loss of activity (95%–88%). ABSTRACT Guided by green chemistry principles, an efficient

Covalent Organic Framework Electrolytes for Solid‐State Lithium Batteries: Designing Ion Highways for Next‐Generation Energy Storage

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 55, 1 October 2026.
Covalent organic frameworks provide a structurally programmable platform for solid‐state lithium batteries. This review outlines a design framework linking structural descriptors to ion‐transport metrics. It examines mechanisms of confinement, channel architecture, and hybrid designs, addressing the reasons for the occasional failure of high intrinsic ...

Designing Porous Boroaluminate Catalysts via Non‐Hydrolytic Ether Elimination

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 10, October 2026.
A non‐hydrolytic sol‐gel ether elimination route provides highly porous boroaluminate mixed oxides with homogeneous atomic distribution and acidic active sites. Careful precursor selection results in catalysts that are highly efficient in ethanol dehydration.
