4-(4-Nitrobenzyl)pyridinium 5-nitrosalicylate [PDF]
In the title salt, C12H11N2O2+·C7H4NO5−, the cations and anions interact through asymmetric cyclic pyridinium–carboxylate N—H...O,O′ hydrogen-bonding associations [graph set R12(4)], giving discrete ...

FLP Mediated Conversion of Difluorobenzylalkynes to Fluoroallenyl Oniums via an SN1’ Pathway
Frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) selective C‒F activation of difluorobenzylalkynes allows the formation of fluoroallenic oniums via an SN1’ substitution pathway. The fluoroallenic onium salts are synthetic precursors that allow subsequent functionalization at allenic and onium positions.

Expanding the Scope of Indium in Frustrated Lewis Pair Chemistry
All good things come in threes: The pyridine‐“protected” FLP tBu2InCH2PtBu2·Py shows three different kinds of reactivity: Besides “typical” FLP activity, it prefers formation of the “soft” isomers for substrates with multiple sites for FLP attack, but reacts with SO2 as a “masked” In/C FLP by insertion into the In─C bond.

4-(3-Ethoxy-4-hydroxystyryl)-1-methylpyridinium tosylate monohydrate
In the title compound, C16H18NO2+·C7H7O3S−·H2O, the dihedral angle between the pyridyl and benzene rings of the pyridinium cation is 0.2 (1)°. The benzene ring of the tosylate anion makes a dihedral angle of 4.8 (2)°

The reactions between tetra(pyridin‐4‐ylthio)tetrathiafulvalene and Br2/I2/ICl/IBr led to a variety of products, including a rare example of neutral 1:4 CT adduct and ionic products showing supramolecular cage motifs at (tri)halide templates. The nature of the reaction products was elucidated based on XRD analysis, Raman spectroscopy and QTAIM, NCI ...

Asymmetric reduction of aromatic ketones in pyridinium-based ionic liquids
The asymmetric reduction of aromatic ketones has been studied in pyridinium-based room temperature ionic liquids, namely, 1-ethyl-pyridinium tetrafluoroborate, [EtPy]+[BF4]- and 1-ethyl-pyridinium trifluoroacetate, [EtPy]+[CF3COO]-.

Pyridinium Cations Act as Charge Reservoirs in Expanded Halide Perovskite Analogs at High Pressure. [PDF]
Redox‐innocent pyridinium derivatives can act as charge reservoirs in expanded tin‐iodide perovskite analogs. Material compression reduces the energy gap between the pyridinium π* acceptor orbital and the valence‐band maximum, facilitating electron transfer from the framework to the molecules and thereby significantly increasing electronic conductivity
