An eye on long‐duration spaceflight: Controversies, countermeasures and challenges
Abstract Space flight‐associated neuroocular syndrome (SANS) is a consequence of long‐duration space flight and is detected in two‐thirds of astronauts. In‐flight, this can cause a change in the refraction of the eyes, requiring graded hypermetropic ‘superfocus adjustable’ glasses, optic nerve head oedema and choroidal folds.

Pyridoxine dependent epilepsy (PDE) is caused by mutations in the ALDH7A1 gene (PDE-ALDH7A1) encoding α-aminoadipic-semialdehyde-dehydrogenase enzyme in the lysine catabolic pathway resulting in an accumulation of α-aminoadipic-acid-semialdehyde (α-AASA).

Molecular mechanisms associated with rootstock–scion interactions in rubber trees
Abstract Hevea brasiliensis (rubber tree) is the main source of natural rubber worldwide. In commercial plantations, high‐yield rubber tree clones are propagated by grafting onto seedling rootstocks. In this study, the transcriptomes of the RRIM 600 clone grafted on different rootstocks in southeastern Brazil were evaluated. Exclusively expressed genes

Role of pyridoxine and oxidative stress in asthenozoospermia
Purpose: Infertility is a worldwide concern, and recent research indicates that vitamin B6 deficiency may play a role in male infertility, primarily by inducing hyperhomocysteinemia and oxidative stress.

ABSTRACT Objective This longitudinal study aims to identify the key factors influencing the weight loss trajectory during a 24‐week intervention and their relevance at different stages of the treatment. Methods We studied 1252 participants (age 18–65 years) of a cognitive behavioral program to lose weight.

Investigating operational stability and causes of cofactor release in fold type I amine transaminase
Abstract Amine transaminases (ATAs) are pyridoxal phosphate (PLP) dependent biocatalysts frequently employed in chiral amine synthesis. Yields of ATA‐catalyzed reactions often suffer from low enzyme operational stability due to weak interactions between the ATA and the aminated cofactor pyridoxamine phosphate (PMP), which can leak from the active site ...

This study analyzed gut microbiota in older adults with and without Frailty Syndrome by 16S rRNA gene sequencing and metagenomics. Frailty was associated with altered microbial composition, metabolic functions, and increased antimicrobial resistance, whereas non‐frail individuals showed healthier profiles.

Assessment of oxygen consumption rates in young, middle‐aged, and old flies from the Drosophila B lines and long‐lived O lines revealed a significant increase in metabolic rate with aging only in B flies. Lisinopril prevented the age‐related rise in metabolic rate in B female flies.

Genome Sequence and Population Genomic Analysis of Cronartium quercuum f.sp. fusiforme
ABSTRACT Fusiform rust, caused by Cronartium quercuum f. sp. fusiforme (Cqf), is the most severe disease of planted southern pines in the south‐eastern United States. Despite the critical role pathogen genomics play in disease outcomes, the population structure and genetic variability of Cqf remain poorly characterised.
