CONTINUOUS HYDROGENATION OF FLASH PYROLYSIS COAL TAR
Liquid Fuels Technology, 1984ABSTRACT High melting tars from the flash pyrolysis of Millmerran coal have been upgraded to mobile liquid products by continuous hydrogenation over a fluidized nickel molybdate catalyst. The hydrogenation unit developed specifically for this purpose la described and changes In properties of the tar during hydrogenation are discussed.

Average structural analysis of tar obtained from pyrolysis of wood
Bioresource Technology, 2010Conventional analytical methods such as (1)H NMR, vapor pressure osmometry (VPO) and elemental analysis were used to characterize the tar obtained from pyrolysis of pine. The major fraction of tar obtained during pyrolysis of pine at different temperatures was the insoluble fraction in n-heptane which corresponds to asphaltenes; this fraction was ...

Structural Characterization of Oil Component of High Temperature Pyrolysis Tars
Energy Sources, 2005Tar samples obtained through high temperature carbonization of three different bituminous coals were separated into oil, asphaltene and preasphaltene fractions by soxhlet extraction. The oil fraction was further separated into parafinic, neutral aromatic and polar aromatic sub-fractions by silica gel chromatography.

Fungicidal value of wood tar from pyrolysis of treated wood
Waste Management, 2007The objective of the paper was to estimate the fungicidal value of wood tar extracted as a product of pyrolysis of wood previously treated with either creosote oil or CCB-type salt preservative. The effectiveness of wood treated with one of these two wood tar residuals was compared to the effectiveness of wood treated with virgin creosote oil (type WEI-
