Powering RCTs for Marginal Effects With GLMs Using Prognostic Score Adjustment

open access: yesStatistics in Medicine, Volume 45, Issue 8-9, April 2026.
ABSTRACT In randomized clinical trials (RCTs), the accurate estimation of marginal treatment effects is crucial for determining the efficacy of interventions. Enhancing the statistical power of these analyses is a key objective for statisticians. The increasing availability of historical data from registries, prior trials, and health records presents ...

The pythagoren community : typology and identity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011

Fossil bears break free from inhibitory cascade constraints at least twice (Ursus minimus and Ursus deningeri) caused by dietary adaptations

open access: yesBoreas, Volume 55, Issue 2, Page 503-516, April 2026.
Bears deviate from the inhibitory cascade model (ICM) during molar size evolution, with two significant deviations linked to changes in diet: Ursus minimus and Ursus deningeri. Many bears exhibit a ‘partial ICM’, highlighting the relationship between relative molar size, dietary adaptations and dental development across different species.

Sublinear bilipschitz equivalence and the quasiisometric classification of solvable Lie groups

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract We prove a product theorem for sublinear bilipschitz equivalences which generalizes the classical work of Kapovich, Kleiner, and Leeb on quasiisometries between product spaces. We employ our product theorem to distinguish up to quasiisometry certain families of solvable groups which share the same dimension, cone‐dimension and Dehn function ...

A review of Aristotle’s claim regarding Pythagoreans fundamental Beliefs: All is number?

open access: yesFilosofia Unisinos, 2016
The question-statement, “All is number?”, the title of Zhmud’s famous 1989 article in Phronesis, opens a challenge to the extremely important Aristotelian testimony that “all is number” was the fundamental definition of Pythagorean philosophy.

Aristotle, The Pythagoreans, and Structural Realism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Aristotle’s main objection to Pythagorean number ontology is that it posits as a basic subject what can exist only as inherent in a subject. I then show how contemporary structural realists posit an ontology much like that of Aristotle’s Pythagoreans ...
