A Comprehensive Study of Piezoelectricity in Chitosan Films

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 6, Issue 3, March 2026.
This work explores the correlation between crystallinity and piezoelectricity in solution‐cast chitosan films with respect to their fabrication process, giving a final recipe allowing to reach a d33 = 27 pm V−1, nearly twice as high as those previously reported in the literature.

Fault Slip and Fluid Flow: Seismic Source Analysis to Assess Role of Multiple Slip Patches in Fault Permeability

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 4, 28 February 2026.
Abstract The relationship between fault reactivation, microearthquakes (MEQs), and permeability evolution during fluid injection plays a critical role in energy harvesting and waste disposal. Recent studies have demonstrated the possibility of predicting fault permeability using cumulative seismic moments of MEQs quantitatively.
