Effect of Pre-Quenching Process on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties in a Nb-Microalloyed Low Carbon Q-P Steel

open access: yesMaterials Science Forum, 2015
A refined microstructure consisting of martensite and retained austenite at room temperature has been produced in a Nb-microalloyed low carbon Si-Mn steel by a novel heat-treatment, pre-quenching prior to quenching and partitioning processes (Q&Q-P).

Electron transfer between complexes III and IV in S. cerevisiae mitochondrial membranes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in S. cerevisiae mitoplasts is limited by complex IV catalytic capacity, rather than two‐dimensional cytochrome c diffusion. At physiological cytochrome c : supercomplex ratios at salinity equivalent to that of 20 mm monovalent salt, activity is maximized, indicating that this low ionic strength accurately mimics

Light-front approach to axial-vector quarkonium γ * γ * form factors

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
In this work, we perform a detailed study of transition form factors for axial- vector meson production via the two-photon fusion process γ * γ * → 1++, with space-like virtual photons in the initial state and a P-wave axial-vector quarkonium in the ...

Determination of Transformation Temperatures of Advanced High-Strength Steels and Their Use in Designing Q&P Process Routes [PDF]

open access: yesManufacturing Technology, 2019
Determining transformation temperatures of novel steels is an important step towards finding parameters for their heat treatment. In advanced high-strength steels for Q&P processing (Quenching and Partitioning), the crucial processing characteristics are the temperatures of the start and end of austenitization and the Ms temperature.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Advantages of intercritically annealed quenching and partitioning (IQ&P) process in 4Mn steel

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
For 4Mn steel, the deterioration of austenite stability caused by insufficient Mn content and the neglect of strength in intercritical annealing (IA) process are the main reasons limiting its application.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Strong approximations of the Q-Q process

open access: yes, 1986
We obtain strong approximation results for the empirical Q-Q process. Moreover, some Glivenko-Cantelli-type results are also obtained.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...
