Bits and q-bits in a psychiatric ward

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 2007
The present study is a trial on expressing the whole state of a psychiatric ward as a linear combination of base states in a Hilbert space. Real data were collected by observing the behavior of the patients from the psychiatric ward of the Clinical Hospital from Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto for 12 days and, according to standard procedures ...

Measuring q-bits in three-trophic level systems

Ecological Modelling, 2007
The use of quantum information has been proposed as an approach to deal with biological data (Piqueira, J.R.C., Serboncini, F.A., Monteiro, L.H.A., 2006. Biological models: measuring variability with classical and quantum information. J. Theor. Biol. 242 (2), 309–313).

Statistical algorithms for superconducting q-bits parameters measurement

2016 13th International Scientific-Technical Conference on Actual Problems of Electronics Instrument Engineering (APEIE), 2016
Statistical algorithms for measurement data processing were developed to perform automation of superconducting quantum bits experimental investigations. The first algorithm is aimed to detect the q-bit quantum state changes. The second one is aimed to obtain the efficient resonance frequency estimation for the resonator coupled to a q-bit.

The Q-bit scheme

ACM SIGCOMM Computer Communication Review, 1992
Modern protocols designed for high-speed networks mostly adapt the rate at which packets are transmitted to control the flow of data between a sender and a receiver, and to control the load put upon the underlying network. In this article, the use of rate-adaption to realize 'congestion avoidance', a recently proposed highly sophisticated technique to ...

The energy level splitting for unharmonic dc-SQUID to be used as phase Q-bit

Physica C: Superconductivity and its Applications, 2006
Abstract Dc-SQUID with Josephson junctions characterized by nonsinusoidal current-phase relation is being considered as a basis for phase qubit. It has been shown that the second and third harmonic components each in the current-phase relation are able to provide double-well potential and the energy level splitting. Threshold condition for the double-

Violation of Bell Inequality with the Fractional Momentum of the photon: a step towards a new q-bit

Conference on Coherence and Quantum Optics, 2007
Bell inequality is violated with transverse spatial variables of twin photons, through optical implementation of Fractional Fourier Transforms. A q-bit can be constructed and manipulated in the same way, with promising applications to quantum information.
