Flying q-bits and entangled photons for quantum cryptography
2008 International Nano-Optoelectronics Workshop, 2008The excitonic ground state in a quantum dot shows a size- and shape-dependent two-fold splitting due to exchange interaction. By tuning the splitting q-bit emission from the exciton or entangled photon emission from the exciton/biexciton cascade are possible.

Abstract We have studied the spin dynamics in nonintentionally doped and n-modulation doped self-organized InAs/GaAs quantum dots (QD) by time-resolved photoluminescence. Under strictly resonant excitation, we demonstrate that the carrier spins in these nanostructures are totally frozen on the neutral or charged exciton lifetime scale.

Phase-space dynamical model of an open system of interacting q-bits
Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 2005Summary: The path integral form of the propagator for a stochastic Schrödinger equation is used to derive stochastic differential equations on the quantum phase space of interacting \(q\)-bits in a random environment. The equations can be considered as an approximate 'classical' model of the quantum system.
