Dual native G‐quadruplex folding is associated with chromatin looping at the MYC locus

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
BG4‐detectable G‐quadruplex (G4) in HaCaT and NHEK keratinocytes identified folded and unfolded G4s enriched at promoters/TSSs and active enhancers, whereas unfolded G4s also overlapped weak/poised enhancers. At MYC–PVT1, 3C‐qPCR detected enhancer–promoter looping only when G4s were simultaneously folded at both regulatory elements under native ...

Infinite product representations of some q-series [PDF]

open access: yes
For integers $a$ and $b$ (not both $0$) we define the integers $c(a,b;n)\ \ (n=0,1,2,\ldots)$ by \[\sum_{n=0}^{infty} c(a,b,;n)q^n = \prod_{n=1}^\infty \left(1-q^n\right)^a (1-q^{2n})^b \quad (|q|<1). \] These integers include the numbers $t_k(n) = c(-

Combinatorial Proofs of q-Series Identities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We provide combinatorial proofs of several of the q-series identities proved by Andrews, Jiménez-Urroz, and Ono using the theory of basic hypergeometric ...

GelMA‐based 3D spheroids recapitulate transcriptomic and functional hallmarks of myeloid sarcoma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
GelMA 5% hydrogels support the formation of myeloid leukemia spheroids that recapitulate MS‐specific features, including G1 arrest, apoptosis, and ECM‐driven transcriptomic reprogramming. The 3D model mimicked soft‐tissue‐like stiffness and oxygen conditions, and transcriptomic convergence with primary MS samples confirmed its utility as a preclinical ...

Two-Parameter Identities for q-Appell Polynomials

open access: yes, 2023
In this paper, by using the techniques of the q-exponential generating series, we extend a well-known two-parameter identity for the Appell polynomials to the q-Appell polynomials of type I and II.

Distinct Partitions and Some q-Binomial Summation Identities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
The partition functions $P(n,m,p)$, the number of integer partitions of $n$ into exactly $m$ parts with each part at most $p$, and $Q(n,m,p)$, the number of integer partitons of $n$ into exactly $m$ distinct parts with each part at most $p$, are related ...

Comparative assessment of crystallographic and cryo‐EM models in the Protein Data Bank

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Raw data obtained by X‐ray crystallography or cryo‐EM result in experimental maps, ultimately fitted by atomic models. Although the physical principles are different, the final results can be viewed, compared, and evaluated in the same way. With cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) on track to surpass X‐ray crystallography as the preferred method ...

Genetic dissection of human ABCE1 in yeast reveals separable requirements for ribosome recycling and suppression of aberrant reinitiation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human ABCE1 cannot functionally replace its yeast ortholog. Yeast–human chimera analysis identified NBD1 as a major interspecies barrier. Genetic screening yielded hABCE1 revertants that rescue yeast viability but fail to suppress aberrant translation reinitiation in the 3′ UTR.

The q-Binomial Coefficient for Negative Arguments and Some q-Binomial Summation Identities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Using a property of the q-shifted factorial, an identity for q-binomial coefficients is proved, which is used to derive the formulas for the q-binomial coefficient for negative arguments.

Cracking the Code: Genotype–Phenotype Correlation Models in Sarcoglycanopathies

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Sarcoglycanopathies are among the most severe limb‐girdle muscular dystrophies (LGMD), though milder presentations have been described. These diseases are primarily caused by missense variants, but the limited predictability of their effect on protein maturation, complex formation, and transport has hindered reliable genotype ...
