Passively Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser With Graphene Oxide in Heavy Water

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2014
Liquid saturable absorbers have some advantages in some aspects over solid saturable absorbers. In this paper, graphene oxide in heavy water (deuteroxide, D2O) dispersion was fabricated and used as absorber in Q-switched Nd:YAG laser for the first time ...

Compact high-energy Q-switched cladding-pumped fiber laser with a tuning range over 40nm

open access: yes, 1999
We describe a compact Q-switched diode pumped double-clad ytterbium-doped fiber laser. The fiber laser was bidirectionally pumped by two laser diodes (2W of output power each) via two side-injecting pump-couplers.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Graphene actively Q-switched lasers

open access: yes, 2017
Graphene electro-optic modulators (GEOMs) are emerging as a viable alternative to conventional material-based modulators mainly due to their broadband and ultrafast performance.

Topological Insulator Simultaneously Q-Switched Dual-Wavelength $ \hbox{Nd}:\hbox{Lu}_{2}\hbox{O}_{3}$ Laser

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2014
We demonstrated the dual-wavelength simultaneously Q-switched Nd: Lu2O3 laser with a topological insulator Bi2Se3 as the Q-switcher. The continuous-wave Nd:Lu2O3 crystal laser with the slope efficiency of 31% was achieved, and the first Nd:Lu2O3 pulsed ...

High-energy, alignment-insensitive, injection-seeded Q-switched Ho:yttrium aluminum garnet single-frequency laser

open access: yesHigh Power Laser Science and Engineering, 2023
A high-energy, alignment-insensitive, injection-seeded Q-switched Ho:yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG) single-frequency laser is developed. Both the slave Q-switched laser and the seed laser are Ho:YAG ring lasers based on a pair of corner cubic reflectors ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Ag/MXene as Saturable Absorber for Tm:Ho Co-Doped Q-Switched Fiber Laser

open access: yesNanomaterials
Q-switched fiber lasers have become reliable light sources for generating high-energy pulses, which can be passively modulated by saturable absorbers with excellent nonlinear optical properties.

Black Phosphorus Q-Switched Large-Mode-Area Tm-Doped Fiber Laser

open access: yesInternational Journal of Optics, 2018
We report on a passively Q-switched fiber laser with black phosphorus as saturable absorber. By employing the sol-gel fabricated large-mode-area Tm-doped fiber as gain medium, a high-energy Q-switched fiber laser has been demonstrated which delivers the ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...
