Q-switched operation of microchip lasers
Optics Letters, 1991With a novel Q-switching technique, 6-ns output pulses are produced from a single-mode Nd:YAG microchip laser pumped with 120 mW of cw optical power. Rate-equation analysis indicates that with a pump power of 500 mW, Q-switched Nd:YAG microchip lasers having subnanosecond pulses and peak powers of several kilowatts are feasible.

Passively Q-switched microchip lasers and applications!
2003 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe (CLEO/Europe 2003) (IEEE Cat. No.03TH8666), 1998Diode-pumped passively Q-switched Nd:YAG microchip lasers are compact, economical, all-solid-state sources of coherent, subnanosecond, multikilowatt pulses at high repetition rates, with applications in diverse areas.
