Controllable Passively Q-Switched Laser

Chinese Physics Letters, 2004
We present a novel kind of pulsed laser named controllable passively Q-switched laser (CPQL). A CPQL of Nd:YVO4 with Cr:YAG as saturable absorber was demonstrated and studied as an example of the kind of pulsed lasers. In CPQL, as the actively controlling signal, a diode laser beam was focused onto the saturable absorber in the resonant cavity of the ...

Exploding PbS film Q-switch laser

Applied Optics, 1978
Exploding PbS film Q-switches in a Nd(3+) glass laser produce approximately 40-nsec. giant pulses. This investigation characterizes the laser giant pulse energy, over-all efficiency and ratio of giant pulse energy to total output energy as functions of flashlamp input energy, PbS film reflectivity, output mirror reflectivity, and flashlamp pulse width ...

Holmium oxide thin film as a saturable absorber for generating Q-switched and mode-locked erbium-doped fiber lasers

Optical fiber technology (Print), 2019
We demonstrated a new type of transition metal oxide (TMO) material, Holmium oxide (Ho2O3) polymer film SA for compact passively Q-switched and mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) generations.

Q-Switched Tunable Forsterite Laser

Advanced Solid State Lasers, 1991
The tunable Q-switching operation of forsterite (Cr:Mg2SiO4) laser was demonstrated. The typical Q-switched pulse was 60ns to 80ns in tyidth, varied with lasing wavelength. A smooth tuning curve that extends from 1206nm to 1264nm was obtained.

Passively Q-switched microchip lasers and applications!

2003 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe (CLEO/Europe 2003) (IEEE Cat. No.03TH8666), 1998
Diode-pumped passively Q-switched Nd:YAG microchip lasers are compact, economical, all-solid-state sources of coherent, subnanosecond, multikilowatt pulses at high repetition rates, with applications in diverse areas.
