Passively Q-switched Tm:YLF laser
Optics Letters, 2012Stable passive Q-switching of a Tm: LiYF4 laser is obtained using polycrystalline Cr2+: ZnS as a saturable absorber. The achieved maximum pulse energy of 0.9 mJ and peak power of 65 kW for a pulse duration of ∼14 ns represent substantial improvement and highest values for a passively Q-switched diode-pumped Tm laser operating at ∼1.9 μm.

Q-switched unidirectional ring lasers
IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1969Traveling-wave operation of a ruby laser has been obtained by the use of a 5° Faraday rotator. Mode selection in a TW ruby laser with electrooptical Q switching is discussed.

Q-switched and gain-switched Fe:ZnSe lasers tunable over 360–515 µm
We report on room temperature gain-switched and Q-switched Fe:ZnSe lasers tunable over 3.60-5.15 µm pumped by radiation of an 2.94 µm Er:YAG laser. The maximum output energy was measured to be 5 mJ under 15 mJ of pump energy in gain-switched regime.

Q-Switched Laser Goniopuncture
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1974A new approach to treatment of glaucoma has been tried, in which Q-switched laser bursts are delivered to the anterior chamber angle. Nonthermal effects emerge as an important factor in the biological action of such laser impulses. Laser-induced defects in the filtering zone produced by Q-switched impulses have been traced histologically.

Unpolarized EO Q-switched laser
Applied Optics, 1983A novel laser design is given that uses a special polarizing device to generate unpolarized Q-switched laser energy with a conventional EO Pockels cell. The special polarizing device, which replaces the linear polarizer normally used in conventional Q-switched resonators, allows solid-state lasers to operate efficiently at high repetition rates.

Q switched Neodymium:YAG Laser Iridotomy
Ophthalmology, 1984Twenty phakic eyes of 19 patients underwent Q-switched neodymium:YAG laser iridotomies for angle-closure glaucoma. Eleven eyes were previous argon laser failures. Penetration was achieved in each case with several shots in one session. Complications were minor and transient.

Q-switching the Erbium-YAG Laser
Journal of Modern Optics, 1994An erbium-YAG laser has been Q-switched by two methods; a mechanical technique employing a rotating output coupler and electro-optically utilizing a LiNbO3 crystal. The performances of each technique are assessed and compared. Pulse durations of 150 to 850 ns have been produced, with pulse energies of 1 to 16 mJ depending on the technique used.

Q-switched 935 nm Nd:CNGG laser
Applied Optics, 2009A laser diode pumped Q-switched 935 nm Nd-doped Ca(3)(NbGa)(2-x)Ga(3)O(12) (Nd:CNGG) laser using a Cr,Nd:YAG crystal as a saturable absorber is demonstrated for the first time to our knowledge. An average output power of 74 mW for 935 nmQ-switched pulses and a repetition rate of 3.788 kHz are obtained.

Research progress of all-solid-state passively Q-switched Er:Yb:glass lasers
, 2021Lasers with emission wavelengths of 1.5 μm are suitable for the eye-safe band and transparency region of the atmosphere. During extremely bad weather conditions, the penetration is stronger than the traditional 1 μm and visible band; thus, they are ...

Diode-pumped Q-switched Yb:YAG laser
Optics Letters, 1993A cw-pumped, repetitively Q-switched, InGaAs-diode-pumped Yb:YAG laser has been demonstrated at room temperature. An output energy of as much as 72 microJ/pulse at 1.03 microm with a pulse length as short as 11 ns (FWHM) was attained. No optical damage was observed despite the high saturation fluence (~10 J/cm(2)) of the Yb:YAG laser and the short ...
