Thermal hadron production in pp and p{\bar p} collisions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
It is shown that the hadron production in high energy pp and p{\bar p} collisions, calculated by assuming that particles originate in hadron gas fireballs at thermal and partial chemical equilibrium, agrees very well with the data. The temperature of the

Optimal performance design of bat algorithm: An adaptive multi‐stage structure

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, Volume 10, Issue 3, Page 755-814, June 2025.
Abstract The bat algorithm (BA) is a metaheuristic algorithm for global optimisation that simulates the echolocation behaviour of bats with varying pulse rates of emission and loudness, which can be used to find the globally optimal solutions for various optimisation problems. Knowing the recent criticises of the originality of equations, the principle

Continuous Titration Based Method for Rapid In‐Solution Analysis of Non‐Covalent Interactions

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, Volume 5, Issue 5, May 2025.
This work presents cSPRING, which combines Taylor dispersion with ratiometric fluorescence detection to measure binding affinities (Kd) in a single experiment. This in‐solution method reduces sample preparation time 8‐fold, requires only nanograms of protein, and provides results in under a minute, demonstrating efficiency for screening protein‐small ...

High Multiplicity Scheduling with Switching Costs for few Products

open access: yes, 2014
We study a variant of the single machine capacitated lot-sizing problem with sequence-dependent setup costs and product-dependent inventory costs. We are given a single machine and a set of products associated with a constant demand rate, maximum loading

Role of Secondary Structure and Time‐Dependent Binding on Disruption of Phthalocyanine Aggregates by Guanine‐Rich Nucleic Acids

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 2, January 9, 2025.
The binding of guanine‐rich nucleic acids to a water‐soluble cationic, regiopure zinc phthalocyanine (1) is reported. In contrast to double‐stranded DNA, guanine systems GpG, (GpG)10, poly(G) and quadruplex DNA effectively disrupt phthalocyanine aggregates to disperse the monomeric state.

Long-time Behavior of a Two-layer Model of Baroclinic Quasi-geostrophic Turbulence

open access: yes, 2012
We study a viscous two-layer quasi-geostrophic beta-plane model that is forced by imposition of a spatially uniform vertical shear in the eastward (zonal) component of the layer flows, or equivalently a spatially uniform north-south temperature gradient.
