Genetic mapping and haplotype analysis identify novel candidate genes for high night temperature tolerance in winter wheat. [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Genome
Abstract A diverse panel of 320 winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) genotypes was evaluated for yield‐related parameters under control and high night‐time temperature (HNT) stress using custom‐designed, movable field‐based heat tents over 2 years. Genome‐wide association mapping identified several significant single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs ...

Rational design of a covalent ACE2 decoy receptor that broadly neutralizes SARS-CoV-2 variants. [PDF]

open access: yesProtein Sci
Abstract The ongoing evolution of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2) and the emergence of variants that evade existing vaccines and antibody therapies necessitate novel, potent, and broad‐spectrum antiviral strategies. Enhancing therapeutic proteins with additional covalent binding capabilities, such as minibinders and ...

Partial trisomy 1(q42-->qter): a new case with a mild phenotype. [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Medical Genetics, 1998
We report a female patient with a 46,XX,der(8)t(1;8)(q42.1;p23.3) karyotype who had a mild phenotype characterised by a few subtle dysmorphic features and mild developmental retardation, probably resulting from trisomy 1q42-->qter. The deletion on the short arm of the chromosome 8 appeared to be confined to the distal chromosomal segment.

De novo duplication 1q32-q42: variability of phenotypic features in partial lq trisomics. [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Medical Genetics, 1980
A de novo tandem duplication 1q32--q42 was observed in a 7-month-old mentally retarded and malformed male infant. Karyotype-phenotype correlation in other similar unbalanced trisomies has shown psychomotor retardation, micro- or retrognathia or both, and low set or malpositioned ears to be the most common features associated with this newly recognised ...

ATXN2-CAG42 sequesters PABPC1 into insolubility and induces FBXW8 in cerebellum of old ataxic knock-in mice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 2 (SCA2) is caused by expansion of a polyglutamine encoding triplet repeat in the human ATXN2 gene beyond (CAG)31. This is thought to mediate toxic gain-of-function by protein aggregation and to affect RNA processing ...

De novo balanced reciprocal translocation mosaic t(1;3)(q42;q25) detected by prenatal genetic diagnosis: a fetus conceived using preimplantation genetic testing due to a t(12;14)(q22;q13) balanced paternal reciprocal translocation [PDF]

open access: yesMolecular Cytogenetics, 2021
Abstract Introduction De novo balanced reciprocal translocations mosaicism in fetus conceived using preimplantation genetic testing from a different balanced translocation carrier parent has been rarely reported. Methods Chromosomal microarray analysis, karyotype analysis ...
