Time-bounded reachability in tree-structured QBDs by abstraction [PDF]
This paper studies quantitative model checking of infinite tree-like (continuous-time) Markov chains. These tree-structured quasi-birth death processes are equivalent to probabilistic pushdown automata and recursive Markov chains and are widely used in the field of performance evaluation.

Status and future of recombinant adeno‐associated virus vector manufacturing
Abstract Sixty years of adeno‐associated virus (AAV) research illustrates a trajectory marked by basic science exploration, iterative innovation, persistent challenges, a number of clinical setbacks, as well as commercial therapeutic triumphs. This continual evolution has led to recombinant AAV (rAAV) becoming a cornerstone of modern gene therapy ...

Kronecker-Based Infinite Level-Dependent QBD Processes [PDF]
Markovian systems with multiple interacting subsystems under the influence of a control unit are considered. The state spaces of the subsystems are countably infinite, whereas that of the control unit is finite. A recent infinite level-dependent quasi-birth-and-death model for such systems is extended by facilitating the automatic representation and ...

High‐throughput anion‐exchange chromatography process development enables scalable purification of high‐purity recombinant adeno‐associated virus capsids. Abstract Recombinant adeno‐associated virus (rAAV) production commonly yields a high proportion of empty and partially filled capsids, necessitating downstream purification to enrich full capsids ...

ABSTRACT The objective of this paper is to demonstrate the advantage of computationally pre‐screening surface‐modifying material candidates, using density functional theory (DFT), to inform experimental synthesis and formulation efforts. This demonstration focuses on improving the solubility of benzene‐based materials in hydroxyl‐terminated ...

Effect of Resonant Mixer Granulation Parameters on Prill Properties
ABSTRACT Resonant mixing is a promising processing approach to manage mixing of materials with high solids content and has shown strong performance for mixing powders and pastes in energetic materials. This has led to the exploration of the approach for granulation of primary particles into millimeter‐sized agglomerates, including for generating ...

Lymphoma is a group of blood cancers that can appear in lymph nodes, blood, bone marrow, spleen, liver, or the central nervous system, which makes drug delivery and disease monitoring difficult. This review summarizes how nanomedicine technologies may improve targeted treatment and imaging, while carefully separating approved or guideline‐supported ...

The Doctrine of State Necessity
This article examines the doctrine of state necessity as a distinct but relatively underexplored doctrine of constitutional law. Drawing on case law from a range of jurisdictions, it considers instances in which courts have accepted otherwise unconstitutional measures as lawful in order to preserve the operation of state institutions or protect ...

Consideration Without Economic Duress: Reframing the Analysis of Contractual Modifications
Prevailing approaches to the contractual enforceability of modifications revise or dispense with the requirement of consideration and invoke economic duress to rule out unfair, inequitable, or bad faith modifications. Enforceability turns effectively on the absence of economic duress. But economic duress is a doctrine of avoidance.
