Explicit Constructions of Girth-Eight QC-LDPC Codes: A Unified Framework Motivated by TDGS
Information Theory WorkshopA new search method named two-dimensional greedy search (TDGS) is proposed to progressively determine each element within an exponent matrix, so as to generate quasi-cyclic (QC) low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes without 4-cycles and 6-cycles.

A GenAlg Optimization of Length-Scalable QC-LDPC Codes
2021 7th International Conference on Computer and Communications (ICCC), 2021In this paper, we propose an optimization scheme of quasi-cyclic low-density parity-check (QC-LDPC) codes based on an evolutionary algorithm, the Genetic Algorithm (GenAlg).

Efficient Search of Girth-Optimal QC-LDPC Codes
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2016In this paper, we study the cycle structure of quasi-cyclic (QC) low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes with the goal of obtaining the shortest code with a given degree distribution and girth. We focus on QC-LDPC codes, whose Tanner graphs are cyclic liftings of fully connected base graphs of size $3 \times n, n \geq 4$ , and obtain minimal lifting

Construction of Algebraic-Based Variable-Rate QC-LDPC Codes
International Symposium on Information Theory, 2021In this paper, we concentrate on one algebraic-based quasi-cyclic low-density parity-check (QC-LDPC) code constructed from two subsets of a finite field and generalize it to propose a class of variable-rate QC-LDPC (VR-QC-LDPC) codes, whose parity-check ...

Balanced Incomplete Block Designs, Partial Geometries, and Their Associated QC-LDPC Codes
International Symposium on Turbo Codes and Iterative Information Processing, 2021This paper presents two classes of partial geometries (PaGs) derived from balanced incomplete block designs (BIBDs) of a special type. Based on these two classes of partial geometries, quasi-cyclic (QC) LDPC codes can be constructed. These codes not only

Efficient encoding of QC-LDPC codes related to cyclic MDS codes
IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 2008In this paper, we present an efficient systematic encoding algorithm for quasi-cyclic (QC) low-density parity check (LDPC) codes that are related to cyclic maximum-distance separable (MDS) codes. The algorithm offers linear time complexity, and it can be easily implemented by using polynomial multiplication and division circuits.

Low-Latency High-Throughput Decoder of QC-LDPC Codes by Matrix Splitting
International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal ProcessingAs the continuously increasing demand of high data rate and lower transmission, many modern communication systems employ the LDPC coding scheme with ultra-high throughput decoder to achieve these challenging requirements.

Construction of high-rate QC-LDPC codes
The 2011 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC 2011), 2011In this paper, we construct high-rate quasi-cyclic low-density parity-check (QC-LDPC) codes with girth-10 based on shortened array codes. First, we derive analytic results on the maximum number of columns for shortened array codes of different girths. A code construction method inspired by the analysis is proposed for column-weight-three codes and is ...

Layered TPMP Decoding for QC-LDPC Codes
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012This paper presents a layered two-phase message passing (L-TPMP) decoding algorithm for general quasi-cyclic low-density parity-check (QC-LDPC) codes, which not only achieves high hardware utilization efficiency (HUE), but also brings in great memory block reduction.

Efficient Decoder Implementation for QC-LDPC Codes
2006 International Conference on Communications, Circuits and Systems, 2006Channel coding is an important building block in communication systems. Low-density parity-check codes is one kind of prominent error correcting codes being considered in next generation industry standards. This paper presents a memory efficient, very high speed decoder architecture suited for quasi-cyclic low-density parity-check codes using modified ...
