Nuclear p ⊥-broadening of an energetic parton pair

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
We revisit the transverse momentum broadening of a fast parton pair crossing a nuclear medium, putting emphasis on the pair global color state, for any number of colors N and within the eikonal limit for parton propagation and the Gaussian approximation ...

Visible GeV ALP from TeV Vector‐Like Leptons

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 73, Issue 3, March 2025.
Abstract A model is presented where a GeV axion‐like‐particle (ALP) is predicted in a large portion of the parameter space due to the presence of explicit Peccei–Quinn (PQ) symmetry‐breaking terms in an exotic leptonic sector. The latter provides a solution to the muon g−2$g-2$ anomaly, within the framework of the Linear Seesaw neutrino mechanism.

Analytic double-soft integrated subtraction terms for two massive emitters in a back-to-back kinematics

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We consider the double-soft limit of QCD amplitudes with two massive quarks in a back-to-back kinematics accompanied by two soft partons. We integrate analytically the respective double-soft eikonal functions over the phase space of the two soft partons.

Measuring the Quantum State of Dark Matter

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 536, Issue 1, January 2024.
It is demonstrated how the time series obtained from searches for ultralight bosonic dark matter, such as the axion, can be used to determine whether it is in a coherent or incoherent quantum state. Abstract It is shown how the time series obtained from searches for ultralight bosonic dark matter (DM), such as the axion, can be used to determine ...

Theory and phenomenology of the Polyakov loop in QCD thermodynamics [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 2004
A synthesis of Polyakov loop models of the deconfinement transition and quasiparticle models of gluon plasma thermodynamics leads to a class of models in which gluons move in a non-trivial Polyakov loop background. These models are successful candidates for explaining both critical behavior and the equation of state for the SU(3) gauge theory at finite

Primer on Axion Physics

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 536, Issue 1, January 2024.
A primer on axion physics, emphasizing an intuitive understanding of why the axion solves the strong CP problem. Abstract The canonical axion potential is reviewed, with an emphasis on the field theory underlying radial and angular modes of complex scalar fields.

Schwinger-Dyson equations in QED and QCD the calculation of fermion-antifermion condensates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We present non-perturbative solutions for the fermion and boson propagators of QED in both three- and four-dimensions, and QCD. In doing so, we solve the coupled system of Schwinger-Dyson equations numerically in Euclidean space, investigating ...

Introduction to QCD

open access: yes, 2012
These lectures were originally given at TASI and are directed at a level suitable for graduate students in High Energy Physics. They are intended to give an introduction to the theory and phenomenology of quantum chromodynamics (QCD), focusing on ...

Higgs‐induced screening mechanisms in scalar‐tensor theories

open access: yesAnnals of the New York Academy of Sciences, Volume 1531, Issue 1, Page 95-103, January 2024.
Abstract We consider the theory of a light conformally coupled scalar field, that is, one that is coupled directly to the Ricci scalar of the gravitational sector. This theory can be written equivalently as one of a light scalar that is coupled to the Standard Model of particle physics with a particular combination of Higgs‐portal couplings.
