Quantum Dot-Doped Glasses and Fibers: Fabrication and Optical Properties

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials, 2015
Quantum dot-doped glasses have been the hotspot for their excellent electronic and optical properties. Owing to its tunable and broadband near-infrared (NIR) emission by controlling the size and distribution of QDs, QD-doped glasses and fibers are ...

Resistant Peanut Genotype Reprograms Rhizosphere Metabolism to Enhance Bacterial Wilt Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The resistant peanut genotype selectively recruits beneficial bacteria, which coincides with the activation of salicylic acid (SA)‐dependent systemic acquired resistance (SAR) against Ralstonia solanacearum. Keystone rhizosphere metabolites are positively correlated with both beneficial microbiome assembly and SAR gene expression.

Supersonically Spray-Coated Colloidal Quantum Dot Ink Solar Cells

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Controlling the thickness of quantum dot (QD) films is difficult using existing film formation techniques, which employ pre-ligand-exchanged PbS QD inks, because of several issues: 1) poor colloidal stability, 2) use of high-boiling-point solvents for QD

Lesion Site‐Targeted Microspheres Modulate Nav1.7‐Related Signaling for Osteoarthritis Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cartilage‐targeted carbamazepine‐loaded WYRGRL‐modified composite microspheres (CBZ/WCOM) anchor to exposed type II collagen in osteoarthritic lesions and release carbamazepine under acidic conditions. This bind‐then‐release platform modulates Nav1.7‐related sodium signaling, Na⁺/Ca²⁺ exchanger‐associated Ca2+ dynamics, and heat shock protein 70 ...

The diagnostic challenges of diabetes insipidus in dogs: A narrative review of the water deprivation test and complementary biomarkers

open access: yesOpen Veterinary Journal
Background: Diabetes insipidus (DI) is an uncommon canine endocrinopathy causing polyuria and polydipsia. It may be central, due to antidiuretic hormone (ADH) deficiency, or nephrogenic, from renal insensitivity to ADH.

A High‐Current‐Tolerant Multimetallic Phosphide Electrode for Alkaline Water Electrolysis Toward Industrial Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A phosphide‐modified multimetallic HER electrode achieves industrial‐level performance with minimal noble‐metal content. It delivers 1.7 A cm−2 at 2.0 V in 6 M KOH at 70°C and operates stably for over 200 h at 500 mA cm−2. Phosphorus tuning of the electronic structure optimizes hydrogen adsorption, offering a durable, high‐rate pathway for alkaline ...

From qd to LR, or, how were the qd and LR algorithms discovered? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Perhaps, the most astonishing idea in eigenvalue computation is Rutishauser's idea of applying the LR transform to a matrix for generating a sequence of similar matrices that become more and more triangular.
