FRET-Based Nanobiosensors for Imaging Intracellular Ca2+ and H+ Microdomains

open access: yesSensors, 2015
Semiconductor nanocrystals (NCs) or quantum dots (QDs) are luminous point emitters increasingly being used to tag and track biomolecules in biological/biomedical imaging.

Rare‐Earth Mediated Engineering in ZnSe@ZnS:Eu3+ to Simultaneously Achieve Structural Modulation and Atomic Eu Doping Sites for X‐Ray Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A dual hard‐base anchoring strategy was developed to synthesize ZnSe@ZnS:Eu3+ quantum dots, leveraging fluoride‐oleylamine interactions to create surface atomic Eu doping sites. By precisely tuning temperature, Eu3+ concentration, and fluoride levels, we obtain morphologies ranging from tip growth to coupled flower‐like structures.

Quantum dot biosensors for highly sensitive and multiplex detection in biomedical diagnostics

open access: yesDiscover Sensors
Quantum dot (QD)-based biosensors have become a promising platform for biomedical diagnostics, particularly for early disease detection, where conventional immunoassays often struggle with low sensitivity, photobleaching, and poor optical penetration in ...

Crystallographic studies of 2-picolyl substituted naphthalene diimide and bis-phthalimide ligands and their supramolecular coordination chemistry

open access: yes, 2019
Here we report the synthesis of two N-(2-picolyl) substituted bis-imide ligands, N,N'-di(2-picolyl)-1,4,5,8-naphthalenetetracarboxylic diimide L1 and N,N'-di(2-picolyl)-4,4'-oxybisphthalimide L2, and describe their coordination chemistry in the ...

Resistant Peanut Genotype Reprograms Rhizosphere Metabolism to Enhance Bacterial Wilt Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The resistant peanut genotype selectively recruits beneficial bacteria, which coincides with the activation of salicylic acid (SA)‐dependent systemic acquired resistance (SAR) against Ralstonia solanacearum. Keystone rhizosphere metabolites are positively correlated with both beneficial microbiome assembly and SAR gene expression.

Electric Field Inhomogeneity in Colloidal QD‐LEDs

open access: yes
It is demonstrated that the electroluminescent layer in a colloidal quantum dotlight emitting diode (QD-LED), formed by stochastic methods such as spin-coating, incorporates morphological thickness inhomogeneities, resulting inlocal electric field ...

A structural study of dithizone coordination chemistry

open access: yes, 2017
Dithizone, since its discovery in 1878, has become essential in colorimetric assays for numerous transition metal ions. However, despite it being a vital reagent its coordination chemistry is not fully understood.

Thermal Spin Coated PbS QD SWIR Imager for Non‐Invasive Glucose Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Thermal spin‐coating enables controlled film formation of PbS quantum dots, leading to denser packing, reduced defect‐assisted transport, and improved carrier extraction. The resulting photodetectors exhibit suppressed dark current, enhanced responsivity, and faster response.

Catalyst Hide‐and‐Seek Beneath Porous Support Surfaces: Pinpointing Active Site Distribution Through Resonance Energy Transfer

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Like a shark playing hide‐and‐seek in a coral reef, energy transfer (ET) finds hidden “fish” catalysts in the porous support “reef.” ET allows catalytic species to be precisely mapped, revealing whether they reside near the surface, deep in the pores, or are uniformly distributed. This approach ensures controlled catalyst distribution, highlighting how
