Abstract The Quasielastic Neutron Scattering workshop, held at Miramar Palace, San Sebastian, Basque Country (Spain) on September 26–28, 1993, was a natural continuation of the series started at Cumberland Lodge, Windsor, UK in 1992. There it was decided to establish periodic discussion forums to maintain the community in close contact during these ...

Analysis of QENS in aligned nematic phases
Physica Scripta, 1995The potential of QENS (quasi-elastic neutron scattering) to study molecular diffusive motions is well established, but in nematic phases it has not measured up to expectations due to the complexities of such systems. In this work we report the results of a detailed analysis of QENS data obtained for partially deuterated ethoxybenzylidene-bis ...

QENS investigation of the dynamics of starch saccharides
Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2005We present here quasi-elastic neutron scattering results on D20 hydrated samples of amylose, one of the main saccharide components of starch. Two different sample hydrations (h = 0.5 and 1.0 g D2O (g dry amylose)-1 have been investigated in the temperature range 170 to 350 K.
