Immunoglobulin Kappa Light Chain Produced by Cardiomyocytes and Participates in Maintaining Intercalated Disc Integrity

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 9, September 2026.
This study identifies Igκ expression in cardiomyocytes, with predominant localization at ICDs. Cardiomyocyte‐specific Igκ knockout induces cardiac dysfunction and ICDs structural disorganization. Mechanistically, Igκ stabilizes plectin to facilitate desmin‒actin network assembly and anchor desmin to DSP, which is critical for maintaining ICDs ...

Application of Digital Health Interventions in Home Self‐Management of Patients Undergoing Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement: A Scoping Review and Future Perspectives

open access: yesNursing Open, Volume 13, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim To systematically map the application forms, functions, outcomes, and implementation barriers of digital health interventions (DHIs) in home self‐management for patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Design Scoping review following the Joanna Briggs Institute methodology with a published a priori protocol.

Electrocardiogram Characteristics and Outcomes in an Adult Congenital Heart Disease Population

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology, Volume 31, Issue 5, September 2026.
The electrocardiogram (ECG) is a low‐cost, readily available test that can detect dysrhythmia, chamber enlargement, and ischemia in heart disease patients. ECG features and changes over time are linked to adverse cardiac events and mortality in congenital heart disease populations. Further research is needed to develop ECG‐based risk models.

Electrocardiographic Predictors of Early Recurrence of Atrial Fibrillation After Electrical Cardioversion

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology, Volume 31, Issue 5, September 2026.
A simple ECG composite score predicts early AF recurrence after electrical cardioversion and may help guide rhythm‐control strategies. ABSTRACT Background Although electrical cardioversion (ECV) effectively restores sinus rhythm in patients with persistent atrial fibrillation (AF), early recurrence after successful ECV remains common in clinical ...

Electrocardiogram Abnormality Classification From Summary Statistics With Patient‐Level Validation and Process‐Focused Evaluation

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology, Volume 31, Issue 5, September 2026.
Patient‐level validation in ECG abnormality classification demonstrates that detailed evaluation (including monotonic decline patterns, learning convergence, and precision‐recall calibration across partitions) is vital for clinical deployment. Aggregate accuracy metrics alone mask critical generalization instabilities, highlighting the need for process‐
