Different Methods to Measure QRS Duration in CRT Patients: Impact on the Predictive Value of QRS Duration Parameters [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology, 2015
BackgroundMeasurements of QRS duration (QRSD) in patients undergoing cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) are not standardized. We hypothesized that both the measurement of QRSD and its predictive value on CRT response are sensitive to the method by which QRSD is measured.MethodsElectrocardiograms (ECGs) pre‐ and post‐CRT from 52 CRT patients (66 ...

Studies of electrocardiogram QRS duration in aging rural populations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Electrocardiogram (ECG) derived QRS duration has been described as a biomarker for cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk. However, little is known about risk factors associated with increased QRS duration in rural populations.

Systolic blood pressure but not electrocardiogram QRS duration is associated with heart rate variability (HRV): a cross-sectional study in rural Australian non-diabetics

open access: yesClinical Hypertension, 2017
Background A positive correlation between ECG derived QRS duration and heart rate variability (HRV) parameters had previously been reported in young healthy adults.

Prevalence and prognostic value of ventricular conduction delay in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cardiology: Heart & Vasculature
Background: The pathophysiology of heart failure (HF) with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is heterogeneous and incompletely understood. This study evaluated the presence of a ventricular conduction delay (VCD) phenotype in HFpEF through QRS duration

Marked prolongation of QRS duration after initiation of dronedarone therapy

open access: yes, 2014
Dronedarone is a relatively new antiarrhythmic drug and is held to be less proarrhythmic than comparable compounds, although its proarrhythmia potential in humans has not been sufficiently evaluated.

Signal-Averaged Electrocardiography in Patients with Advanced Heart Failure: A Better Indicator of Left Ventricular Enlargement Compared with Conventional Electrocardiography [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Tehran University Heart Center, 2011
Background: The signal-averaged electrocardiography is a noninvasive method to evaluate the presence of the potentials generated by tissues activated later than their usual timing in the cardiac cycle.

Influence of QRS duration and axis on response to cardiac resynchronization therapy in chronic heart failure with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction: A single center study including patients with left bundle branch block

open access: yesCardiology Journal, 2020
BACKGROUND: The aim of the study was to evaluate QRS duration and axis as predictors of response to cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) in order to reduce the proportion of non-responders.

Duration of Heart Failure With Reduced Ejection Fraction Associated With Electrocardiographic Outcomes Before and After Sacubitril/Valsartan

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 2022
Aim: Changes in QRS duration in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) after sacubitril/valsartan therapy is not fully understood.

Measurement of QRS Duration for Biventricular Pacing Optimization [PDF]

open access: yesASAIO Journal, 2008
Optimization of left ventricular pacing site or interventricular pacing delay improves the efficacy of biventricular pacing (BiVP). Cardiac output (CO) based optimization, however, is invasive and slow. QRS duration (QRSd) is noninvasive and responds rapidly.

A Geometrically Transient Platform for Bioelectronic Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Minimally invasive bioelectronic implants often compromise performance for smaller sizes. To resolve this optimization dilemma, a wireless bioelectronic implant with a transient geometry is introduced (MiFi). The origami‐inspired device miniaturizes up to sixfold for syringe insertion and autonomously unfolds post‐implantation.
