Self‐assembly and Lateral Cobalt Coordination of a Fivefold Symmetric Cyanostar Macrocycle on an Au(111) Surface

Herein, we report the first example of the formation of a close‐packed, regular 2D monolayer of a fivefold symmetric cyanostar macrocycle on an Au(111) surface under ultra‐high vacuum and the structural modification of such self‐assembled architecture upon cobalt atom deposition.

Abstract The synthesis and characterization of an amphiphilic nitroxide to be used as a controlling agent in a nitroxide‐mediated living radical polymerization in aqueous dispersion media is presented. In the first stage of nitroxide synthesis (phthalimide protection), two reaction methods were employed: traditional and microwave.

Accessing Molecular Complexity from Methane and Other Gaseous Alkanes via Photocatalytic Cascade Cyclization

An iron‐catalyzed protocol for the cascade cyclization of N‐aryl and N‐benzoyl acrylamides promoted by methane and other gaseous alkanes is reported. The current protocol provides an efficient platform for the conversion of feedstock gaseous alkanes into complex and medicinally relevant N‐heterocycles.

A computational strategy to compute the energy of the triplet excited state in europium‐based coordination complexes is presented. This method allows for in silico screening of new systems with can be used as photosensitizers in solar cell‐based technologies.
