Non-Archimedean Hyers-Ulam Stability of an Additive-Quadratic Mapping

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2012
Using fixed point method and direct method, we prove the Hyers-Ulam stability of the following additive-quadratic functional equation š‘Ÿ2š‘“((š‘„+š‘¦+š‘§)/š‘Ÿ)+š‘Ÿ2š‘“((š‘„āˆ’š‘¦+š‘§)/š‘Ÿ)+š‘Ÿ2š‘“((š‘„+š‘¦āˆ’š‘§)/š‘Ÿ)+š‘Ÿ2š‘“((āˆ’š‘„+š‘¦+š‘§)/š‘Ÿ)=4š‘“(š‘„)+4š‘“(š‘¦)+4š‘“(š‘§), where š‘Ÿ is a positive real number, in ...

A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, Volume 39, Issue 3, Page 566-581, March 2025.
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.

On the stability of the quadratic mapping in normed spaces

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2001
The Hyers-Ulam stability, the Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability, and also the stability in the spirit of GavruÅ£a for each of the following quadratic functional equations f(x+y)+f(xāˆ’y)=2f(x)+2f(y), f(x+y+z)+f(xāˆ’y)+f(yāˆ’z)+f(zāˆ’x)=3f(x)+3f(y)+3f(z), f(x+y+z)+f(x)+

Billiards on constant curvature spaces and generating functions for systems with constraints [PDF]

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics, 2017
In this note we consider a method of generating functions for systems with constraints and, as an example, we prove that the billiard mappings for billiards on the Euclidean space, sphere, and the Lobachevsky space are sympletic.

Improved Bump Mapping by using Quadratic Vector Interpolation

open access: yes, 2002
Bump mapping is a technique that perturbs normals used in the illumination computation in order to make the surface appear rough or wrinkled. Standard graphics hardware linearly interpolates rotated vectors in the direction to the light source over the ...

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Optimal Control Problem with Necessary Optimality Conditions for the Viscous Dullin-Gottwald-Holm Equation

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
We study the quadratic cost optimal control problems for the viscous Dullin-Gottwald-Holm equation. The main novelty of this paper is to derive the necessary optimality conditions of optimal controls, corresponding to physically meaningful distributive ...

A quadratic unconstrained binary optimization approach for qubit mapping [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Logische Bitoperationen sind die Grundbausteine von Computer Software. Hierbei werden Bits manipuliert, um verschiedene Aufgaben auszuführen, beispielsweise bitweise AND-, OR-, XOR- und NOT-Operationen. Dies ist der Quantensoftware sehr ähnlich.

Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Investigation of the Stability via Shadowing Property

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2009
The shadowing property is to find an exact solution to an iterated map that remains close to an approximate solution. In this article, using shadowing property, we show the stability of the following equation in normed group: 4n−2Cn/2−1r2f(&
