A Tale of Snakes and Horses: Amplifying Correlation Power Analysis on Quadratic Maps

open access: yesTransactions on Cryptographic Hardware and Embedded Systems, 2023
We study the success probabilities of two variants of Correlation Power Analysis (CPA) to retrieve multiple secret bits. The target is a permutation-based symmetric cryptographic construction with a quadratic map as an S-box. More precisely, we focus on

ITERATION OF QUADRATIC MAPS ON MATRIX ALGEBRAS [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2012
We study the iteration of a quadratic family in the algebra of 2 × 2 real matrices, parameterized by a matrix C. We analyze and classify the existing cycles (periodic orbits) and their dependence on the parameter matrix. We discuss how new dynamical phenomena occur as a consequence of the noncommutativity of the matrix product.

Quadratic optimization of fixed points for a family of nonexpansive mappings in Hilbert space

open access: yesFixed Point Theory and Applications, 2004
Given a finite family of nonexpansive self-mappings of a Hilbert space, a particular quadratic functional, and a strongly positive selfadjoint bounded linear operator, Yamada et al.

Classification of critical sets and their images for quadratic maps of the plane [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We provide a complete classification of the critical sets and their images for quadratic maps of the real plane. Critical sets are always conic sections, which provides a starting point for the classification.

Quadratic maps with a periodic critical point of period 2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We provide a complete classification of possible graphs of rational preperiodic points of endomorphisms of the projective line of degree 2 defined over the rationals with a rational periodic critical point of period 2, under the assumption that these ...

Some results around quadratic maps [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
This paper dedicated to study quadratic maps. We present some new operator equalities and inequalities by using quadratic map in the framework of B(H). Applications for particular case of interest are also provided.

Symbolic Methods for Analysing Bifurcations and Chaos of Two Five-Parameter Families of Planar Quadratic Maps

open access: yesScience Journal of University of Zakho, 2020
In this work, we analyze the dynamical behaviors of two five-parameter families of planar quadratic maps by utilizing strategies of symbolic computation.

State maps from integration by parts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We develop a new approach to the construction of state vectors for linear time-invariant systems described by higher-order differential equations. The basic observation is that the concatenation of two solutions of higher-order differential equations ...

Regularity properties of monotone measure-preserving maps

open access: yesAdvanced Nonlinear Studies, 2023
In this note, we extend the regularity theory for monotone measure-preserving maps, also known as optimal transports for the quadratic cost optimal transport problem, to the case when the support of the target measure is an arbitrary convex domain and ...

Quadratic Thurston maps with few postcritical points [PDF]

open access: yesGeometriae Dedicata, 2017
We use the theory of self-similar groups to enumerate all combinatorial classes of non-Euclidean quadratic Thurston maps with fewer than five postcritical points.
