Linear Quadratic Games with Costly Measurements

open access: yes, 2017
In this work we consider a stochastic linear quadratic two-player game. The state measurements are observed through a switched noiseless communication link. Each player incurs a finite cost every time the link is established to get measurements.

Photoswitching Conduction in Framework Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This mini‐review summarizes recent advances in state‐of‐the‐art proton and electron conduction in framework materials that can be remotely and reversibly switched on and off by light. It discusses the various photoswitching conduction mechanisms and the strategies employed to enhance photoswitched conductivity.

Solving of the Quadratic Fractional Programming Problems by a Modified Symmetric Fuzzy Approach

open access: yesIbn Al-Haitham Journal for Pure and Applied Sciences, 2022
The aims of the paper are to present a modified symmetric fuzzy approach to find the best workable compromise solution for quadratic fractional programming problems (QFPP) with fuzzy crisp in both the objective functions and the constraints.

Block Copolymers: Emerging Building Blocks for Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review addresses how block copolymer (BCP) physics and rheology have led to the widespread use of BCPs in advanced additive manufacturing techniques, with particular emphasis on the untapped potential of these nanostructured materials toward achieving multi‐scale architected materials with unique, programmable material properties.

Fractional Programming for Communication Systems—Part I: Power Control and Beamforming [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2018
Fractional programming (FP) refers to a family of optimization problems that involve ratio term(s). This two-part paper explores the use of FP in the design and optimization of communication systems.

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

The PPADMM Method for Solving Quadratic Programming Problems

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
In this paper, a preconditioned and proximal alternating direction method of multipliers (PPADMM) is established for iteratively solving the equality-constraint quadratic programming problems.

Quadratic Convex Reformulations for Semicontinuous Quadratic Programming [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Optimization, 2017
Summary: We consider in this paper a class of semicontinuous quadratic programming problems, which arises in many real-world applications such as production planning, portfolio selection, and subset selection in regression. We build upon the idea of the quadratic convex reformulation approach, i.e., adding to the original objective function an ...

Trap‐Assisted Transport and Neuromorphic Plasticity in Lead‐Free 2D Perovskites PEA2SnI4

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An artificial retina built from lead‐free layered perovskite (PEA)2SnI4 converts light input into a persistent photocurrent and sums successive flashes over time. Micro/nanocrystals integrated on electrodes act as synapse‐like pixels that perform temporal integration directly in hardware. This in‐sensor preprocessing merges detection and computation on
