Bending Analysis of Thickness‐ and Shear‐Deformable Materially Imperfect Composite Shells With von Kármán‐Type Geometric Nonlinearities

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Geometrically nonlinear static analysis of materially imperfect composite doubly curved shells is investigated via the generalised differential quadrature method. The effects of both shear and thickness deformation are considered through a thickness‐ and shear‐deformable third‐order theory formulated in curvilinear coordinates, while the ...

On quasi degree quadrature rules

open access: yesNumerische Mathematik, 1982
In this paper we examine quadrature rules $$Qf = \sum\limits_{j = 1}^n {w_j } f(t_j )$$ for the integral $$\int\limits_a^b {w(t)f(t)dt} $$ which are exact for all $$f(t) = t^\lambda (\sqrt {1 + t^2 } )^\mu $$ with ?+μ?d. We specify three distinct families of solutions which have properties not unlike the standard Gauss and Radau quadrature rules.

Free Vibration of Hemp Fiber‐Reinforced Laminated Composite Curved Beams Using Generalized Differential Quadrature Method

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Schematic representation of hemp‐, glass‐, and carbon‐based laminated composite curved beams, including different stacking sequences and their vibration response. ABSTRACT In recent years, increasing environmental awareness has stimulated growing interest in natural fiber‐reinforced composites (NFRCs) due to their eco‐friendly composition ...

Multi-Parameter Asymptotic Expansions With Errors for Multi-Dimensional Hypersingular Integrals With Product Type and Splitting Extrapolation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
This paper presents the modified quadrature rules for 1-D hypersingular integrals, and then constructs the quadrature formulas to numerically evaluate multi-dimensional hypersingular integrals in the form of f .p. f.Ω g(x)/(Πi=1s |xi-ti|1+&#

Numerical quadrature methods for integrals of singular periodic functions and their application to singular and weakly singular integral equations [PDF]

open access: yes
High accuracy numerical quadrature methods for integrals of singular periodic functions are proposed. These methods are based on the appropriate Euler-Maclaurin expansions of trapezoidal rule approximations and their extrapolations.

The Age and Origin of Block Deposits in the Victorian Alps, Australia

open access: yesPermafrost and Periglacial Processes, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Large periglacial block deposits are found in the mountains of southeastern Australia. Despite their widespread distribution, their mode of formation and age are poorly understood. These landforms hold considerable potential to shed light on the nature of cooling during glacial periods. In this paper we present a new study of block deposits in

AI‐enabled bumpless transfer control strategy for legged robot with hybrid energy storage system

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Designing Hybrid energy storage system (HESS) for a legged robot is significant to improve the motion performance and energy efficiency of the robot. However, switching between the driving mode and regenerative braking mode in the HESS may generate a torque bump, which has brought significant challenges to the stability of the robot locomotion.

Accurate computation of the high dimensional diffraction potential over hyper-rectangles

open access: yes, 2018
We propose a fast method for high order approximation of potentials of the Helmholtz type operator Delta+kappa^2 over hyper-rectangles in R^n. By using the basis functions introduced in the theory of approximate approximations, the cubature of a ...

Forming a mixed Quadrature rule using an anti-Lobatto four point Quadrature rule

open access: yes, 2016
Abstract A mixed quadrature rule of higher precision for approximate evaluation of real definite integrals has been constructed using an anti-Lobatto rule. The analytical convergence of the rule has been studied. The relative effciencies of the mixed quadrature rule has been shown with the help of suitable test integrals.
