Ferroelectric Behavior of Micro‐ to Submicron‐Scale HZO Capacitors: Impact of the Perimeter‐to‐Area Ratio

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Using C‐AFM, W/HZO/p‐Ge capacitors with areas down to 0.26 µm2 are investigated. Frequency‐dependent voltage ramps reveal switching currents that confirm complete polarization reversal across the entire electrode area, while PUND enables reconstruction of P–V loops.

Numerical Integration of Some Arbitrary Functions over an Ellipsoid by Discretizing into Hexahedral Elements for Biomaterial Studies

open access: yesInternational Journal of Chemical Engineering
This study mathematically examines chemical and biomaterial models by employing the finite element method. Unshaped biomaterials’ complex structures have been numerically analyzed using Gaussian quadrature rules.

Four beautiful quadrature rules

open access: yesCoRR, 2019
A framework is presented to compute approximations of an integral $I(f)=\displaystyle \int_a^b f(x) dx$ from a pair of companion rules and its associate rule. We show that an associate rule is a weighted mean of two companion rules. In particular, the trapezoidal (T) and Simpson (S) rules are weighted means of the companion pairs (L,R) and (T,M ...

Dictionary‐based weak‐form training for noise‐robust series hybrid models with multiplicative unknowns

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hybrid modeling combines first‐principles equations with a data‐driven subcomponent. Training for the data‐driven part is sensitive to measurement noise when training targets are constructed using pointwise time derivatives. Beyond differentiation errors, hybrid models involve solving an inverse problem to estimate the data‐driven term, which ...

Extending Battery Usage Time of a Heavy‐Duty Mecanum‐Wheeled Autonomous Electric Vehicle Used in Iron–Steel Industry by Considering Wheel Slippage

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
It is a fact that slippage causes tracking errors in both longitudinal and lateral directions which results to have less travel distance in tracking a reference trajectory. Less travel distance means having energy loss of the battery and carrying loads less than planned.

Ultrasonic Rainbow: A Meta‐Transducer for Frequency‐Selective Elastic Wave Control via Dithering‐Based Wavenumber Tuning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A piezoelectric meta‐transducer generates an ultrasonic rainbow, steering guided elastic waves to different angles according to frequency. A dithering‐based binary electrode design enables a closer realization of the target wavenumber filter, improving directional purity and suppressing unwanted lobes. Numerical and experimental validation demonstrates

Retinal Vessel Segmentation: A Comprehensive Review From Classical Methods to Deep Learning Advances (1982–2025)

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Four decades of retinal vessel segmentation research (1982–2025) are synthesized, spanning classical image processing, machine learning, and deep learning paradigms. A meta‐analysis of 428 studies establishes a unified taxonomy and highlights performance trends, generalization capabilities, and clinical relevance.

Midpoint Derivative-Based Closed Newton-Cotes Quadrature

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2013
A novel family of numerical integration of closed Newton-Cotes quadrature rules is presented which uses the derivative value at the midpoint. It is proved that these kinds of quadrature rules obtain an increase of two orders of precision over the ...
