On-Chip Trifilar-Transformer-Coupled Quadrature Signal Generation Methodology

2009 Fourth International Conference on Innovative Computing, Information and Control (ICICIC), 2009
The circuit analyses of four elemental building blocks for a quadrature signal generator are provided. From these block analyses, a set of equations forming a closed-loop relation in node voltages is obtained. This equation set represents a cross-coupled system that will oscillate in quadrature.

A New Second-Order Generalized Integrator Based Quadrature Signal Generator With Enhanced Performance

2016 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2016
Due to the simplicity and flexibility of the structure of the Second-Order Generalized Integrator based Quadrature Signal Generator (SOGI-QSG), it has been widely used over the past decade for many applications such as frequency estimation, grid synchronization, and harmonic extraction.

Frequency Division and Quadrature Signal Generation at Microwave Frequencies

2012
In many receiver and transmitter architecture, or in general any application that requires frequency translation, the availability of multiple phases of a carrier frequency is desired and makes the on-chip implementation of that architecture feasible or simpler.

Generation of Hexagonal 16-ary Quadrature Amplitude Modulation Signals

Asia Communications and Photonics Conference 2015, 2015
Using a dual-drive IQ modulator, we generate 25-Gbaud hexagonal 16-QAM signals. The off-line BER at 32dB optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) is 3.7e-3, the required OSNR is 0.5dB less than that of the square 16-QAM signal.

Realization of quadrature signal generator using accurate magnitude integrator

2016 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2016
Second-Order Generalized Integrator based Quadrature Signal Generator (SOGI-QSG) has been widely used in single-or three-phase power converter systems due to its simplicity and flexibility. However, its dynamic response is not only decided by its damping gain but also influenced by the input-signal parameters, especially when a fast response is ...

A new coupling scheme for multiphase and quadrature signals generation

Analog Integrated Circuits and Signal Processing, 2012
A new coupling technique for low-phase noise low-power quadrature signals generation is presented. In the proposed technique two identical CMOS LC-voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs) are coupled in an in-phase anti-phase manner via the substrates of the MOS varactors.

Quadrature integral noise shaping for generation of modulated RF signals

The 2002 45th Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2002. MWSCAS-2002., 2003
This paper introduces a method to produce a modulated RF signal using a digital pulse signal switching at the carrier frequency. The entire modulation and amplification lineup is implemented in the digital domain. Integral Noise Shaping (INS) is used to create the baseband signals (I, Q) as digital PWM signals which are then mixed with a pair of ...

A transformer-based poly-phase network for ultra-broadband quadrature signal generation

2015 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium, 2015
This paper presents a novel transformer-based poly-phase passive network for generating high-quality fully differential quadrature signals with low-loss, ultra-broad bandwidth, and high compactness. A differential folded transformer quadrature coupler serves as the building block in the proposed poly-phase network. The poly-phase network can be readily

An I/Q mixer with an integrated differential quadrature all-pass filter for on-chip quadrature LO signal generation

Journal of Semiconductors, 2015
A down-conversion in-phase/quadrature (I/Q) mixer employing a folded-type topology, integrated with a passive differential quadrature all-pass filter (D-QAF), in order to realize the final down-conversion stage of a 60 GHz receiver architecture is presented in this work.

Adaptive Signal Processing Nonlinear Block with Quadrature Generators Under Influence Broadband Noise

2018 IEEE East-West Design & Test Symposium (EWDTS), 2018
The issues, related to the synthesis of algorithms of adaptive nonlinear processing that are implemented through blocks of nonlinear processing with quadrature generators, are reviewed and analyzed. The use of adaptive nonlinear processing in the detection of weak signals against the background noise allows to take into account the density probability ...
