Abstract This study aims to investigate the effects of the position correction of size‐specific dose estimates (SSDE) on patient dose estimation in cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). The relationship between the phantom position and absorbed dose in the right breast was studied using optically stimulated luminescence dosimeters and a simulated human

Overview of the Antimicrobial Resistance of Salmonella Recovered from U.S. Poultry Processing Plants
The objectives of this study were to analyze the results of antimicrobial susceptibility testing on Salmonella isolated from poultry carcass and parts rinsates using a scoring system for antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and to deter-mine whether the ...

Quality Assurance of Heterogeneous Applications: The SODALITE Approach [PDF]
A key focus of the SODALITE project is to assure the quality and performance of the deployments of applications over heterogeneous Cloud and HPC environments. It offers a set of tools to detect and correct errors, smells, and bugs in the deployment models and their provisioning workflows, and a framework to monitor and refactor deployment model ...

Cell‐free DNA aneuploidy score as a dynamic early response marker in prostate cancer
mFast‐SeqS‐based genome‐wide aneuploidy scores are concordant with aneuploidy scores obtained by whole genome sequencing from tumor tissue and can predict response to ARSI treatment at baseline and, at an early time point, to ARSI and taxanes. This assay can be easily performed at low cost and requires little input of cfDNA. Cell‐free circulating tumor

Abstract The present study was conducted as part of a comprehensive work to establish National Diagnostic Reference Levels (NDRLs) in Sri Lanka for the first time. DRLs can be used as an effective optimization tool for identifying unusually high or low patient doses during X‐ray examinations.

As we described in Chapter 1, Services are often provisioned within short-term, volatile and highly dynamic (business) processes. These processes are designed in an abstract manner and when instantiated can involve service providers not known of during the design time of the service-based application.

ACCESS: Assurance Case Centric Engineering of Safety-critical Systems [PDF]
Assurance cases are used to communicate and assess confidence in critical system properties such as safety and security. Historically, assurance cases have been manually created documents, which are evaluated by system stakeholders through lengthy and complicated processes. In recent years, model-based system assurance approaches have gained popularity

Prostate cancer is a leading malignancy with significant clinical heterogeneity in men. An 11‐gene signature derived from dysregulated epithelial cell markers effectively predicted biochemical recurrence‐free survival in patients who underwent radical surgery or radiotherapy.

Clinical significance of stratifying prostate cancer patients through specific circulating genes
We tested a specific panel of genes representative of luminal, neuroendocrine and stem‐like cells in the blood of prostate cancer patients, showing predictive value from diagnosis to late stages of disease. This approach allows monitoring of treatment responses and outcomes at specific time points in trajectories.

Uncertainty-based quality assurance of carotid artery wall segmentation in black-blood MRI [PDF]
The application of deep learning models to large-scale data sets requires means for automatic quality assurance. We have previously developed a fully automatic algorithm for carotid artery wall segmentation in black-blood MRI that we aim to apply to large-scale data sets.
