The use of indicators for unobservable product qualities: inferences based on consumer sorting

open access: yes
Using the dietary supplement black cohosh to demonstrate our method, we employ data on a product characteristic unobservable to consumers to decompose the contribution to consumers’ valuations of observable characteristics into surrogate indicator and ...

Characteristic Wavelength Selection and Surrogate Monitoring for UV–Vis Absorption Spectroscopy-Based Water Quality Sensing

open access: yes
Ultraviolet-visible (UV–Vis) absorption spectroscopy for in situ water quality sensing has garnered increasing attention. However, the selection of the characteristic wavelengths for water quality indicators has been underexplored in existing ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

A new procedure for monitoring the range and standard deviation of a quality characteristic

open access: yes
The Shewhart and the Bonferroni-adjustment R and S chart are usually applied to monitor the range and the standard deviation of a quality characteristic. These charts are used to recognize the process variability of a quality characteristic.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Firm Characteristic Determinants of SME Participation in Production Networks [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper provides an empirical analysis of small and medium enterprise (SME) participation in production networks. It gauges firm characteristic determinants of SME participation in production networks.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.
