The quality factor, Q, is a dimensionless modifier used in converting absorbed dose, expressed in gray (or rad), to dose equivalent, expressed in sievert (or rem). The dose equivalent is used in radiation protection to account for the biological effectiveness of different kinds of radiation. The quality factor is related to both linear energy transfer (

Human Factors and Quality Improvement
Clinics in Perinatology, 2010Human factors analysis (HFE) presents a formidable contribution to quality improvement (QI) in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The science behind the fundamental principles concerning the design of work systems that match the needs of the people who work in them is sound and is applied widely in other safety critical situations.

Factors affecting dental service quality
International Journal of Health Care Quality Assurance, 2015Purpose– Measuring dental clinic service quality is the first and most important factor in improving care. The quality provided plays an important role in patient satisfaction. The purpose of this paper is to identify factors affecting dental service quality from the patients’ viewpoint.Design/methodology/approach– This cross-sectional, descriptive ...

Factors influencing bone scan quality
European Journal of Nuclear Medicine, 1983A reliable subjective method of assessing bone scan quality is described. A large number of variables which theoretically could influence scan quality were submitted to regression and factor analysis. Obesity, age, sex and abnormality of scan were found to be significant but weak variables.

The Quality Factor for Photons
Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 1990A method is presented here for calculating effective quality factors for organ dose equivalents and the operational quantities defined in the ICRU sphere, according to the dose distribution in linear energy transfert or linear energy. It is shown that all proposed functions for Q, as well as the present convention, lead to photon quality factors ...

LED Power Factor and Quality Factor
2019 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2019This paper presents the LED power factor and quality factor simply characterized from the available terminal average current, average voltage, and RMS current to evaluate the electric power quality of LEDs. The LED average power is composed of the bandgap power and the resistive power due to the forward voltage and equivalent series resistor in the LED
