Solid in shape, shattered in practice? The ‘sentencing pyramid’ in China

open access: yesJournal of Law and Society, Volume 52, Issue 2, Page 292-314, June 2025.
Abstract In this article, I use a structural‐functionalist analysis to explain how the sentencing process in the People's Republic of China has morphed into what I call the ‘sentencing pyramid’, with largely discrete and separate praxis across various legal apparatuses. The base of this hierarchical composition encompasses a vast number of infractions,

Effect of different packaging forms on acid value change of black sesame during storage

open access: yesZhongguo youzhi

Sirtuin 3 reinforces acylcarnitine metabolism and maintains thermogenesis in brown adipose tissue of aging mice

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2024.
The response of aging mice to L‐carnitine induced activation of ACar metabolism in BAT requires Sirt3 expression. Mechanically, Sirt3 regulated ACar metabolism via HIF1α‐PPARα signaling pathway to promote BAT thermogenesis. Sirt3 regulated ACar metabolism is critical in improving age‐associated decline of BAT thermogenesis. Abstract Acylcarnitine (ACar)
